Target Update

target logoWell I guess all good things come to an end.  After the great deal on Alphabet Pal last week, Target changed its policy on price matching.  And now, most likely in response to the baby wipes, they are limiting the number of coupons you can print.  So you can only print 2 coupons per computer.

So we will have to see how this all works out but it appears that we won’t be able to use the Target coupon generators on HCW and AFC to print unlimited copies.  The other thing is that the coupons change regularly so once the coupon is gone, you can’t go back to get it.  Now great deals come up all the time a few weeks after the coupons are released so we will all be using a lot of extra ink to make sure we get them while they are available!

You can see a new policy they released right HERE.

Now this is a bit of a bummer but honestly now we don’t have to worry about entire shelves being emptied by one or two people.  Also there will still be lots of great deals to go around- just not in the quantities we used to get.  Target is still going to be one of my favorite stores and the best part is that obviously there are a heck of a lot of couponers out there!

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

Do we know if this has already been implemented? I printed off a couple wipes coupons and went to 2 Targets but neither had any. I wonder if I will still be able to use them?

wondering the same thing…I printed off some wipes coupons and a few others from hcw last week and was planning on using them today. I also printed some from their site and so they look different…

Same question! Can we use the Target coupons that we already have printed off prior to this announcement?

I was able to print more than 2!

I would think they will honor what we already have until their expiration date… that would be my assumption. ???

Opps Sorry! It acts like its printing but it prints a we’re sorry you have already printed coupon…

I must have missed something… What changed about their price matching policy?

I printed mine off, but the bar codes are not unique. 2 per computer and they are all the same for both of my computers that I printed them off of. Interesting….

    mine arent unique either

I don’t think this is gonna change anything. As the two previous posters mentioned these barcodes are not unique so I don’t see it stopping anyone from making copies. I’m an honest person and couponer so I WON’T be doing that but unfortunately I think shelves are still going to be cleared by greedy, dishonest couponers. Some people really ruin it for everyone.

    Ok. Thanks for updating us.

I posted a few days ago that they edited the policy so they are not matching doorbusters or Black Friday ads. There were a few new exclusions to the policy which is such a shame this time of year!

Yes, I would be very surprised if they didn’t. But also this just came about this morning so I have no idea how this is going to play out. We just have to wait and see.

I am going to head over to Target a little later today. I wanted a few more tubs of wipes too so I will report back. My store has been empty every single time I’ve gone.

This happened because miss mary thought it okay to go get 18 packs of baby wipes!!!

I was just at Target and used a wipes Q just fine. Wondering how this will really work since you can print Target Q’s at the store…

  17. admin says

    11/17/2009 at 12:53 PM

Right. I was going to just avoid that point. I think right now people are getting a little carried away so if Target is limiting it to 2 per customer I am going to respect what they are asking.

Teresa. Honestly this is my fault too because I bought a bunch of wipes and posted. I did two transactions but I usually stay very well under the radar. I rarely if ever buy large quantities- usually I just buy 3 or 4 at a time at most. I think some people recognize the value of flying under the radar and some might not understand that. Also I paid .55 per tub and I know a lot of people got them free which also makes a difference.

This is just a heads up. I tried to print coupons at my Target Kiosk today and it said that that funcion is no longer available. I am hoping the machine was broke.

Kim…..nope the Kiosk will not print Target Q’s anymore ;o(

I have to agree with the original post here in that I am not too terribly disappointed by this because maybe it will limit the amount of coupons available and those 1 or 2 that get to the deal before us can’t wipe the shelves anymore.

  22. Kim says

    11/18/2009 at 3:49 AM

It will be nice to see some product on the shelf after Sunday morning.. Its too bad that Big T has to put these limitations on their coupons, but its certainly understandable.

  23. Becky says

    11/20/2009 at 11:28 AM

So am I to understand that they are honoring previously printed coupons then?

  24. admin says

    11/20/2009 at 12:33 PM

Becky I think it is really going to depend on your store. Some will probably crack down and some will be business as usual. I can’t imagine they will reject coupons that are perfectly valid and have not expired- so I think you should be fine.

I have a question…I noticed that the Target coupons now say Manufacture’s Coupon. Does that mean there can no longer be stacking Target printable coupons with Manufacture’s coupons? But I guess that also means that the Target coupons can be used at WalMart now…

  26. admin says

    11/21/2009 at 10:45 AM

I heard that but the ones I printed all say Target. Which one are you referring too?

  27. adena says

    11/21/2009 at 7:17 PM

Yes, they all say Target, but I was told by my WalMart that as long as the coupon is a Manufacture’s coupon, they will accept it. I haven’t actually tried it yet, though.
