Ok, it looks like Target has added a few more restrictions to the coupon/ price matching policy as of today. I am trying to stay positive about this and I guess we can be happy that these companies are finally putting it all in writing. It is nice to know exactly what to expect when you go to a store. Otherwise, I guess we just have to roll with the punches and understand that we can still get great deals- just not in the quantities some of you are used to. Also, it might require looking at different stores now to find the deals.
Here are a few new highlights- you can see the entire policy HERE.
What if I’ve already made the purchase at Target?
No problem. Within seven days of purchase, bring your Target receipt and the competitor ‘s current printed ad. We will reimburse the savings to you. (That is Good!!)
Can I use coupons when price matching?
A guest can use coupons when price matching per Target’s normal coupon policy. When the guests presents a coupon(s), these steps will be followed:
Manufacturer Coupons:
Manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made.
Target Coupons:
Target coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price.
Combining both a Target and Manufacturer Coupons:
The Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.
Reminder: We accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item unless either coupon prohibits it.
Target does not ad match a competitors coupon-required offers.

Why would anyone use a target q and price match then? That just does not make sense. Oh I can already see the confused looks on the faces of the Target cashiers. They didn’t understand their own coupon policy before price matching, so I’m sure this change will go over smoothly 🙂

No joke what “special people we having running target”. I make a super long drive weekly to target and just bring my sales ads incase I want to price match. I will just shop walgreens cvs and publix from now on. There is no specail reason to go to target anymore.

Megan, Something similar to this happened a little over a year ago. There was a Target printable for $5/20 toys that was turned into $5/20 any purchase by some awful person and it was ALL OVER the internet. Target lost a ton of money from that one coupon and they seriously cracked down. Every coupon was scrutinized and I personally felt like a criminal for using them. It eventually blew over and things went back to normal. I am hoping the baby wipes and Alphabet Pal blow over too and things get back to normal at Target soon.
