Ok one of my other tricks to making holiday gifts that look expensive is to get inspiration from the pros. So I usually look at high end basket companies to get ideas to make my own look nice.
I found this basket from Gevalia for $45. Now you can make something yourself that will look really nice for less than $15 using deals available this week.
First you can order 3 boxes of gourmet coffee or tea plus a stainless steel commuter mug for $3 shipped HERE. Now you will be enrolled in Gevalia’s coffee club but it literally takes seconds to cancel if you decide it isn’t for you. You get to keep the coffee and mug- no problem. It is a GREAT company and the coffee is really, really good. The boxes look just like the ones in the photo.
Then get the $5 subscription to Cooking Light I told you about HERE. When I give magazines as gifts I usually buy one issue off the news stand and give that to the person so they know what to expect.
Then get the Lindt chocolate bars at CVS this week for .86 after ECB.
Then you can put three boxes of coffee or tea, the mug, 2 chocolate bars and a magazine in the basket. Personally I think that makes a very nice gift for a co worker, teacher or girlfriend (or you can send it to me). And really it is a gift that would be appropriate for a couple as well.
Here is what you will have spent:
.86 per chocolate bar
$3 on coffee & mug
$5 Cooking Light subscription
$3 on newsstand copy of Cooking Light (and if you do the $15 chocolate deal- get this at CVS and use a $5/20 coupon and it will be free)
