I jumped at the chance to review and giveaway a pair of pediped® shoes. They are so gorgeous and such high quality shoes, I am going to warn you now you will never go back. I am a very firm believer in good quality shoes for littles– especially when they are learning to walk. I have heard great things about pediped®, but I had never purchased them before.
I received this pair of Hannah boots for my 5 month old and let me tell you they are like fluffy little clouds. The inside is covered with the faux fur lining so they are incredibly soft on her delicate feet. What I was immediately struck by was how durable the leather seems. I can already tell these shoes are really going to last. What I also like about pediped® is that they are well padded. We have purchased other leather infant shoes in the past and I always worried they were too thin when the baby was walking around outside. pedipeds® feel a lot thicker to me to protect their little feet. These shoes were created by a mom for her own little girls and you can really tell a lot of thought and a lot of care went into the design.
.
The leather is nicely rounded at the bottom and super flexible so I can tell it is going to make those first steps a little easier. Plus they are light as a feather and the leather is extremely easy to keep clean.
.
We recently had a shoe emergency with my toddler- she was a size 6 one day and literally the next day her feet grew into a 7. My frugal nature came through and I ordered a pair of inexpensive shoes just to get by. They totally tore her feet up- she had blisters and she kept tripping over the thick canvas soles. Never again!
.
pediped® shoes are not cheap- you will spend about $32 for most styles but they do have several on sale right now for just $19- like these little Abigail shoes. In my opinion, that is an excellent price. I know little ones move out of sizes very quickly, but when you have high quality shoes you really only need one or two pairs. Also, Maya is the proud recipient of a lot of hand me downs from her big sister, but I just read in Parents magazine last night that it is important to buy new shoes for new walkers. Used shoes have formed to a little ones feet and they can make it harder for babies to learn to walk on their own.
So guess what? The generous folks at pediped® have agreed to let you try these for yourself! You can enter to win a pair of the original shoes (for sizes 0-24 months) and see what you think.
.
The giveaway will run until Sunday at 5pm PST and is open to all US or Canadian residents.
