I rarely wear jewelry anymore. I have pretty much given up with a 2 year that is fascinated with my “bling” (as she calls it)- meaning she is forever trying to yank off my earrings or necklaces etc.. She has now taken to insisting we can’t leave the house until she has her o-rings on (earrings- which she does not have pierced ears so go figure). Plus I have a 4 month old that has a death grip and everything these days goes straight into her mouth.


So I was really excited to check out these teething pendants from Smart Mom Jewelry. These are made from the same silicone that baby toys are made from and are food-safe, phthalate-free, and totally non toxic. And you know it was made by a mom because it is even dishwasher safe! Even better they come with break away clasps- so when your little one gives it a good yank it comes right off.

My girls have already put the pendants through the ringer and they still look great. The clasp is still intact despite numerous yanks. I typically wear very simple clothing- tank tops, t-shirts and jeans and these pendants are an easy way to jazz up a plain outfit. I have already found this to be a great way to keep the baby entertained when we are out and about- as she has taken right to chewing on it. (And no that photo below was not staged- when I pick her up she really does grab right for it). I was lucky enough to get one pendant in bronze and one in jade. The jade adds a nice pop of color to a plain outfit and the bronze is a little more subtle.

    I can't believe I'm the first to comment!! I love this idea. What a great product. My 2.5 yr old doesn't put much in his mouth these days, but he did when he was a baby! And, I just found out this morning that I am pregnant with #2 (shhhh… you are the first to know) so this would be a great little present for me (& the new little one). I love the bronze, green camouflage, or malachite

    This is such a fantastic idea! I have two very "chewy" kids, and another one on the way. My favorite color is silver….or mother of pearl… or onyx….or tanzanite. Ok, I think silver.:)

    Hi!

    I like both the Mother of Pearl and the Lapis Lazuli Donut Shaped Pendants. The Mother of Pearl would go with anything but the Lapis is really pretty! My three month old is just starting to put things in his mouth, especially his blanket so this would be perfect 🙂
