I hit several stores tonight because they are all so close together I can get in and out really quickly. That is what works for me personally to work on a very small grocery budget- I have the ability to really cherry pick deals.
I can not understand why produce is so darn expensive when I live in the middle of California!
Anyway, here goes:
Target:
(2) Coffeemate- used 1.50/2
(4) Kashi waffles- used (4) .25 Target coupons & (4) coupons for $1.50 (making these .24 each!)
Total: $2.84
Costco:
Mozzarella $3.69
Cheddar $4.49
Total: $8.18
Whole Foods
Smart Dogs $2.99- used $1 coupon
Total: 1.99
Raleys
(5) Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade- used .75 printable- total .24 each + .10 CRV
Fuji Apples $3.02 (ouch!)
Tomatos $1.40
Red Onion $.94
Final Price: $6.96
SFWY
18ct Eggs $1.49 w/ in ad coupon
(3) Starbucks ice cream- used $1 coupon= FREE
Eggplant $1 (Did you see that yummy eggplant casserole in my bargain meal of the week?)
Peaches $1.25
10lbs Potatoes $3.99
Total: 7.73
So $27 down, $13 left for the week. Seem skimpy to you? I use the shop from the pantry method that Kathy at $30weeklygrocerychallenge does a great job of explaining here. I use the same strategy which is to buy multiples of an item at rock bottom prices and avoid paying full price. So if I can get waffles for .24 this week than I buy several boxes that will last us for probably 2 months.
