Since I scored bags of Mission Corn Tortillas for .24 each last week at Safeway, my husband has taken to baking his own tortilla chips. They are really quick and so delicious! If you have tomatoes in the garden you can make fresh salsa and have an incredible snack.
He just cuts the tortillas into quarters (these are the small corn tortillas) and puts them on a baking sheet for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
They come out crispy and wonderful- you can play with the salt but we have found they don’t really need it. One warning is that they are best eaten right away as they get a little limp if they sit around.

Mmmm…my mouth is watering just thinking about it! I used to work at a southwestern grill that made their own chips and salsa. Divine!

We've tried frying tortilla wedges, but it's just too messy and time-consuming. I'll have to try baking them. Thanks!

What a great idea. We fry ours, but it's such a hassel. Baking them really works, huh?
