So this was originally $24.21 after coupons which seemed ridiculously high to me. After going through the receipt- I got about $15 back. I was overcharged twice and I didn’t get the $5 mix and match credit. So I actually paid closer to $9- most of it on the produce.
Watermelon- $3- used $1/1 coupon from safeway.com
Pineapple $2.99- used .50/1 coupon from safeway.com
potatoes $2.79
Dawn dish soap on clearance for $1.99- used $1 coupon
foil- $1.99 with in ad coupon- used $1 coupon
yo plus $2.50- used $1 printable and $1 ecoupon
Total 8.77+ $1.10 tax
For the promo I bought the following:
Joint Juice .99 each x2- used (2) $1/1 coupons
Pepsi 1.25
Betty Crocker Frosting $2- used .50 coupon and .50 ecoupon and .25 peelie*
(3) Kraft Easy Mac- $3 used .55/1 coupon from Kraft and $1/2 printable
Hormel dinner- used FREE coupon from I don’t know where
Capri Sun $1.99- used $1/1 coupon
Hefty bags $2- used $1 coupon and .20 peelie*
Total $5.24 and I got $5 back for the promotion- so .24 for all 10 items! There was overage on the Joint Juice and the Hormel which more than paid for the rest of my items. So this is a pretty hot promo- especially if you have doubles in your area!
*My cashier insisted peelies can be used in conjunction with manufacturer coupons. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is she correct?
Awesome, thanks for sharing. I have bags and bags of groceries staring at me to be put away. I wanted to take pictures too, but I am just beat today! Anyhow, yes my cashier told me the same thing about the peelies. It worked too!
No, a peelie is a manq, so that's so silly. What if you hadn't used a peelie when buying the product at a different store, and had it in hand? They surely wouldn't allow it with a 2nd coupon for the item. How strange that multiple cashiers are allowing it, considering how strict they are all getting lately!
I asked that very question at Vons and the cashier said no.
