The Living Well promotion continues through 5/5 and I will cover those items separately. Here are the deals from this week’s ad. Check out my bargain meal of the week post on $5 Dinners using this week’s sale items. Note some prices will vary regionally and I live in the land of no doubles!

NEW: Catalina promo on Pillsbury items. There is a catalina deal running right now- get $3 when you buy 3 Pillsbury items (the rolls etc.. in the tubes). The tiny 4 ct crescent rolls are working for the promo but are not marked in stores. They are priced at $1.29. Some areas received Pillsbury coupons in the 4/5 SS- my coupon was for .40/2 but I found a discarded blinkie in front of the display area for .75/3.
So the math looks like this (3) x $1.29= $3.84- plus whatever coupons you have, get a $3 catalina off your next purchase. In my case I paid .09 for all three- but the final cost will depend on your coupons. (Since I have an extra 10% off on my Safeway card they actually paid me to buy them). Thanks to Slickdeals for this great tip!!

Thank you so much for the price per diaper info!!! I spent a good part of the day yesterday trying to do the math (which isnt my thing anyway) to figure it out, and lacking the info of how many diapers per box, I was having a really hard time!! My son is in 5’s so this was just what I needed, I was trying to figure out if the Vons, or Target gift card was a better deal.

Kate, I am a cheater and use the wisdom of Babycheapskate for pricing. Check out Angie’s blog here: http://babycheapskate.blogspot.com (she does a Sunday round up of the best deals in town on diapers etc..) and her spreadsheet of prices to beat for diapers here:
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/5364437/HowManyDiapersPerPack

You can find this on her right hand toolbar that says BC Essentials, Chart: Diapers per pack.

Also- note the sneaky manufacturers recently reduced the size of the packs to avoid noticable price increases. I always look for older packs of diapers/wipes which have larger quantities.

How did you get the extra 10% on your Safeway card? I had this once and no one could tell me why? ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks so much!

Hi Watson’s– I called customer service (the # on your club card) and asked for it. I got lucky and they extended 10% off to me for 5 weeks. It is a hit or miss thing depending on where you live and the mood of the rep you get on the phone.

In the case of the Pillsbury promo, can you buy six in one transaction and get two catalinas as with the Bertolli promo or do you have to do sets of three in separate transactions?

  6. Charlene says

    04/27/2009 at 12:04 AM

    Hi Jana,

There is less oop if you buy 3 at a time since you can keep rolling your cats- but you should receive 2 cats if you buy 6. You can always call catalina with any problems.

Do you know when the Pillsbury promo will end? Thank you.

In my area it ends on May 20th. You can verify it at your store though by looking at the white tags on the Pillsbury products at your store. I think some areas end on the 17th.
