Apples are one of my favorite lunchbox snacks- they go perfectly with cheese, nut butters, yogurt, sprinkled with cinnamon and they are one of the fruits I can buy organic for very reasonable prices.
I find when I slice them they are gobbled up. When I add them to a lunchbox whole, they come back more often then not.
So I wanted to mention a quick lunchbox tip that will keep your apples from turning brown after you slice them up. This is a little snack box that I packed the night before and you can see it still looks pretty nice the next day.

Thanks for the great tip.. My question is what brand of container is that.. That looks like its the perfect size for little snacks.

Bridgette,
That is a little box from Gerber that was like $6 in the baby section at Target awhile back. It is actually not my favorite though because the lid closes and doesn’t leave enough room in the compartment for very much food. I wouldn’t buy it again. Even little grapes get smooshed because the lid indents and takes up so much space. The ones I like are those cheapie disposable Glad or Ziploc 3 compartment containers you can find with the saran wrap at Target. I put them in the dishwasher and we have a set that was probably $4 and has lasted 2 years ;).
