Fun 4th of July Activities

The 4th of July is almost here and I wanted to post a few ideas that might offer inspiration for last minute recipes, decorations and more.

The Super Simple 4th of July Mason Jars always add a festive touch and look like you spent a lot of time when really you didn’t. You can add flowers or votives- whatever you prefer.

And these Patriotic Rice Krispies are always a fun treat.  They are inexpensive to make but really look festive plus the girls love helping.  These are also great in a pinch when you need to make something last minute.

And for a patriotic touch outside, I thought these Velum Bags and Stars were pretty.  I have done those stars before and it didn’t work for me so using spray paint would be another option.

And always a hit with the kids is this Patriotic drink.  It’s super easy to make, requires only a few ingredients and the kids can help!

If the kids are into crafts, you might try your hand at these DIY 4th of July T-Shirts. It’s a fun activity plus then they will have something festive to wear on the 4th!

And for a really sweet keepsake, try the Patriotic Handprints. It only took about 10 minutes plus a nice memory to look back and see how small the girls hands were.

And here is a little tip from Snapfish for taking photos over the holiday.  Try using sparklers to create eye-catching photos.

Here’s how:

  • You’ll need a camera that lets you set the shutter speed, a light source (glow sticks or flashlights work well), and a tripod or other steady surface
  • Have your writers practice “writing” or “drawing”
  • Light the sparklers (or other light source)
  • Tell the writers to place the sparklers at their starting points
  • Press the shutter button and have everyone start “writing”

And don’t forget about the free 4th of July coloring and activity pages here.

So now you have a few ideas to make the most of this upcoming holiday.  For more inspiration, be sure to check out my 4th of July board on Pinterest.

Hi Charlene, I wondered how I can send you a photo of my daughter’s tie dye t-shirt she made? That idea turned out really cute and I want to show her off. Please let me know, thanks.
