Zoku Slush and Shake Maker $20

Here is something really cool for summer- and man oh man it is really warming up here in California!

Williams Sonoma is exclusively selling these Zoku slush and shake makers for $19.99.

These are a little plastic insert sleeve that goes into your freezer.  Take it out and put in whatever you like (juices, lemonade, iced tea, margaritas, chocolate milk etc…)  and it turns the liquid into a slush!

You can watch exactly how it works on the Williams Sonoma page.  I really wanted to try these out because it gets so hot in Sacramento.  Slushies made of real fruit juice or other healthier ingredients are perfect for my little ladies.

We got this home and tested it by adding fresh squeezed lemonade and it was really yummy!  It did make a slush of the juice in about 5 minutes.

After that we added a little milk and chocolate syrup.  That turned into something like a malted in a few minutes.  We only gave the Zoku about 5 minutes and then this is what it looked like- so a slushy shake consistency:

I noticed the bottom of the cup was much thicker- more like a malted.  That is obviously because it took them awhile to get to the bottom so the Zoku had longer to work it’s magic.

You can grab one of these nifty little things for $19.99 exclusively from Williams Sonoma. They have four colors to choose from. If you hurry and order you can get free shipping with coupon code: FREESHIP.

One thing to note is that some colors are already backordered online.  I happened to be at Williams Sonoma the same day I heard about this machine and I grabbed one.  My store only had 10 or so available and they told me they had just got a shipment in and that was all they got.  The employees had all purchased them and only (2) colors were left.  I bet the stores sell out of these so if you want to drive to the store to get one you might consider calling ahead just to confirm they have them in stock.

I can’t wait to try Arnold Palmers and pureed watermelon in this guy- I already have margarita mix on the shopping list too!

And if you want to try another frozen treat at home- check out this super easy Chocolate Magic Shell ice cream topping.  So good!!

Just ordered a couple (I knew my daughter and I wouldn’t be able to share!), can’t wait to get ’em! Thanks for posting this.

It does not state clearly, but does it come with more than 1 slushie cup? Or if I wanted to make a couple at a time, would I need to purchase multiples?

Jennifer, it makes one cup. You would need to purchase more then one cup or just transfer the one you made to another container and make another one in the same cup.

Does anyone have any ideas how to make a smoothie from the Vitamix and then make a healthy slushie? hoping to make bananna/strawberry and spinach smoorthie in Vitamix to make a slushie to take to work. Wonder how long they hold up after making… like can they hold over in fridge or freezer till you are ready to eat it? Thanks

Has anyone tried coffee in this thing? Wondering if the consistency is similar to a frappuccino…?

    Jill,

I have not but that is something I was thinking too. I just made a batch of iced coffee so I will try it this afternoon and let you know 🙂

Jill- I did try it and I wasn’t excited. It is not the same texture as a frappuccino. I let mine sit a little long though so it got frozen around the sides of the cup. That could have been my fault but it didn’t taste right to me 🙂
