**This was posted last year but since we have just a few weeks until Teacher Appreciation week I wanted to post again. Here are a few of the cute ideas from last year and then I have a lot more things that I will be posting in the coming weeks!
Well guess what time it is? We are inching toward May 7th which is Teacher Appreciation Week!
I know many of us are super busy and might have several teachers that we want to get a little something for, so I thought I would get the ball rolling with several ideas for gift ideas.
Some of these are on the crafty side and some are just simple and easy ways to present things to make it look like you spent a lot of time and energy.
Just click below to see 20 different ideas for things you can do to remind those teachers how much we appreciate them!
::CRAFTY IDEAS.
{Personalized Hand Sanitizer or Soap Dispenser}
*These would be great for bulk gifts for MOPS teachers in particular. There is a free template available that you just print out on transparency film using a laser printer.
Instead of Goof-Off you might try these natural alternatives.
{Teacher appreciation cards}
*You can purchase the PDF file for $6.95 and print them out.
*Free download of adorable subway art. Put it on a clipboard or just a simple frame.
*Free downloadable tag for plants or flowers. To make this even simpler just tie a ribbon around the plant and hole punch the little tag and skip the stick altogether.
*Just get a tackle box and fill with goodies for the teacher.
*DIY Crayon Monogram, perfect for teachers of toddlers in particular. This would be a fun project to do for a playroom as well.
*Add a towel, magazine, candy and mini sunscreen. The $2 flip flops from Old Navy would be cute too. Plus grab a free printable label for your gift.
*I love these tied around crayons, white board markers, pens etc…
*This is a little more work but these labels are really cute. The free downloads are available for Teachers or Mother’s Day.
*Another very cute summer survival kit idea.
{Free Teacher Appreciation Printable}
*You could go in lots of directions with this not just the little homemade pens. You could even just buy a potted plant and put this on as the tag.
*Free downloadable art for bookplates for teachers. You would need labels so these are sticky.
::SIMPLE PRESENTATION.
*Free download of the little tags, buy the boxes at a craft supply store and you can even buy the fortune cookies to go inside.
*If you hit up a local cupcake store they usually sell single cupcakes in nice boxes. Just print out the free little labels and you have a great gift. (Whole Foods has GORGEOUS cupcakes for $2.50- see one I bought recently here.)
*Einstein Bagels sells these little cookies inside plastic cups. This site offers a free downloadable little tag. You could also make a simple tag that says “Thanks to you, I am one smart cookie!” and just tie with ribbon.
{Creative Juices- Jamba Juice gift card in a water cup}
*I love how practical this gift is with the water cup that anyone can use. Tuck in a Jamba Juice gift card and grab the free printable tag to attach.
{Presenting a Starbucks Gift Card}
*Simple tip to give a Starbucks card- use a clean cup and stuff with brown tissue paper and white tissue paper. Sign the card- “Thanks a Latte!”
*Free downloadable sticker to include along with Burt’s Bees products.
*A box of Krispy Kreme donuts with a cute little card to attach. Now I would probably eat half the box on the drive to school so I suggest putting this in the trunk.
I incorporated some of these ideas into my own gifts last year. You can see my finished products as well as a price breakdown here.

These are all so cute! I am looking for ideas for my daughter’s teachers and can’t decide which to do. Also, as a teacher myself, I would love to get any of these! It is so helpful to have all the links together in one blog post- thank you!

LOL- that was a lot of work to find good stuff that I didn’t think would wind up in the trash :P. Thanks for the feedback Heidi!

I am also looking for ideas and love all of these. If not these I am going to get them a car wash gift card!

I love these ideas! You are so creative. I was thinking about doing the book labels but can’t figure out what product to use on vista print that is the cost you gave.

Being a 6th grade teacher I must say I would LOVE every one of these gifts! And don’t feel like you have to spend a lot of money on us to make us feel appreciated! I would love the $3 clipboard and printout way more than a $10+ gift card because more thought seems to be behind it. Happy teacher appreciation day!
Someday when I’m a parent I hope to send my kids to school with flowers from our garden or one of these cute ideas on random “just because” days. As a teacher those random surprises are more memorable because they can do so much to pick you up on just an ordinary day.

Thank you for doing all of that leg work on finding these ideas. I’m sure I would have spent hours on pinterest looking for those ideas. You just saved this Mama a lot of time! Fabulous ideas! Hard to choose which to do!

Awesome ideas Charlene!! When I was teaching I would have been thrilled to receive any of these cute gifts! And thank you for the heads up on Teacher Appreciation Day, I have a kindergartener so I’m still pretty new to all of this. I am leaning towards the Starbucks cup — love it!!

Janelle,
The landing page has changed since this morning. Such a pain- they change the offers all the time. I will search around and if I can find them for $3 again, I will update that link. As it stands they would be $4 + about $3 for shipping.

Casey,
That is a great idea too…. I will have to think if I can come up with a creative way to present that…

These are all such cute ideas! I’m a teacher and any of these would brighten my day. We don’t really expect gifts, but my favorite thing to receive is a note that mentions something specific I’ve done for their child. Even better – have your child write one. I keep them in my bottom desk drawer and pull them out on the days I feel less than successful. Instant recharge!

I’ve not seen most of these ideas before – how refreshing! Thanks for posting! Also, last year I got one of the BEST ideas from a blog (can’t remember which one), and I will continue to use it for years. Emailing the principal, director of elementary ed, and superintendent a letter about how much we’ve appreciated our children’s teachers; and cc’ing it to the teacher. I love this idea because (as an educator myself) there’s nothing like having your supervisors hear from parents about all the hard work you’ve put in to educate children. Better than any other gift I think!!! 🙂

Some ideas are so terrible!!!

Krista,
I think the Golden Rule should apply to all things. Maybe not everything is to your taste but people put an incredible amount of effort into crafting these items, taking photos, providing instructions…. they also put themselves out on the line in showcasing what they came up with. Please keep your negative comments to yourself. If it isn’t your taste there is no reason at all to put someone else’s work down. Any future comments that are disparaging will be deleted.

Love all of these great ideas! I do have a question…. How do you get the transparency to stick inside of the soap or hand sanitizer bottle?
