Here is your September Fresh Produce and Grocery Sales Guide.
I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to fall! I love squash, apples, grapes, pomegranates, artichokes etc… so the September produce list is great news for me.
You can find the items that are in season (and therefore most likely on sale) as well as some other items to keep an eye out for.
We should see Back to School clearance in full swing as many retailers will want Halloween items out before Labor Day weekend.
The month kicks off with Labor Day so we can expect to see lots of sales on grilling items and BBQ foods- lots of chips, dips, condiments etc… This is really the end of these types of sales and most stores will shift into more baking supplies for the Holidays. You might want to consider stocking up on things like BBQ sauce now while the prices are so low.
There should still be sales on lunchbox and breakfast items since the grocery stores are still in Back to School mode (my littlest hasn’t even started school yet!) This is a great time to stock up on frozen waffles and such.
As far as Back to School clothing, most retailers started featuring fall clothes in mid-July and seasonal clothing tends to go on sale about 8 weeks after it hits the floor. So we should start seeing some clearance on fall clothes in the middle of the month as retailers shift into winter stuff.
This month is a great time to grab stuff for babies. There are typically big baby sales at many stores (Target already started the online sale).
Now as for what October brings, we have Daylight Savings Time so that means deals on things like batteries, flashlights etc… The Halloween sales will start (if they haven’t already) right at the first of the month.
I have found the candy deals are the best right before the holiday but for costumes and decorations, you might consider shopping early. In my area things seem to sell out and inventory really gets picked over by mid October.
