Safeway Deals 9/14-9/20

09/13/2011. This post may contain affiliate links. Read my Disclosure Policy.

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

…Click Below to See the Complete List of Safeway Deals….

Notes for this week:

1. Safeway is once again advertising a $10 catalina when you spend $75 in one trip before 9/25. Make sure to read the fine print as there are several exclusions like wine and liquid dairy as well as dairy substitutes. This is $75 after all discounts and savings have been applied. The last few times it has been after all coupons have been applied as well. If anyone gets one this week with a total less than $75 after coupons let us know!

2. There is a big Buy One Get One Free sale on frozen foods featured on the front page of the ad. As usual, no prices have been listed but if you have the $5/15 Frozen Foods purchase coupon this could work out nicely.

Charlene September 13, 2011 at 4:05 PM

Jenny, I mentioned that at the top of the post under NOTES.

sarah mcreynolds September 13, 2011 at 4:15 PM

The coupon I found for the Campbells soup was only $.50/3. Am I missing something?

Charlene September 13, 2011 at 4:19 PM

Sarah, I think I was looking at the Select Harvest soup coupon.

There is a $1/3 Chunky one here:

Amanda September 13, 2011 at 4:30 PM

I found $1/2 Nabisco crackers peelies at my Safeway today. They were in a display down near the deli.

Jolene September 13, 2011 at 4:31 PM

On campbell website there is a $2/5 which drops the price down to $.85 each. Either one, they are still both a great deal. Thank you soo much. You have saved our house soo muhc money

Amanda September 13, 2011 at 7:10 PM

Perfect timing…we are almost out of ranch dressing, so this Kraft sale is great! $0.69 is pretty good for around where I live!

dancinmama September 14, 2011 at 11:42 AM

Thanks for the link to the Hostess coupon. I don’t get doubles at my Safeway, but I have a rain check for the donettes at WAGs that will make them $1/ea.

Jenell September 14, 2011 at 1:49 PM

I have been using the $5 off a $50 purchase at Safeway each week for the last month or so. I found this on Recyclebank for 50 points. It is not a huge savings, but now that we have a newborn, shopping at lots of different stores each week is difficult!

Charlene September 14, 2011 at 1:59 PM

Jenell, would you mind sharing your zip code so I can see if I find it too?

Jenell September 14, 2011 at 3:05 PM

Sure, 95008. Hope you can find it! I have really enjoyed using it and I have also been earning fuel rewards which is nice too!

Esmeralda September 14, 2011 at 4:47 PM

I have a question, I have been getting my Vons/safeway deals in the mail and also with the add in coupons, but I didn’t get anything this week. My local safeway don’t have them and they seem to never have them anyways. So does anybody know how i can get the in store coupons??

Charlene September 14, 2011 at 7:41 PM

Esmeralda, have you set up a Just for U account? You can load the coupons to your club card and they come off when you shop.

Endcapps September 14, 2011 at 9:14 PM

Charlene, in spite of our CA dairy laws, my J4U account today is offering me $2.69 for a gallon of milk. I smell a retraction on that low price once I go to Sfwy. (I also got a free Fuze and .39/lb bananas but am suspicious of the milk)

Charlene September 14, 2011 at 9:18 PM

Oh I dunno. Because I believe the issue is advertising the prices. I have a feeling you will be ok. It is like with All You magazine. If I quietly sold it to you and said it was a lifestyle magazine with coupons inside there would be no issue. If I announced a big discount on All You, well they are all over that and they start sending nasty notes and such because they don’t want it published at a discount.

Esmeralda September 14, 2011 at 11:00 PM

Charlene,
Yes I am set up for that, but never see any in-store coupons. I always see the other simple manufactured ones (which I add). Is their something I have to do to see the Safeway coupons?
Thank you!

katy September 15, 2011 at 12:54 AM

I have a hard time getting to that $75 target just right. I’ve found the easiest way is to go for the meat value-packs on sale, just buy big and go home and freeze it all. Then I can go back with my $10 coupon and get whatever else I need. Easy Peasey. Or am I just lazy?

Charlene September 15, 2011 at 7:04 AM

All the in ad coupons should be available to you to save. I can see them all under my account but there is not a way to just sort by those coupons, you have to look through them all to find the ones you want.

anna September 15, 2011 at 9:15 AM

i see that 2.69 milk on my just4u too. it says unlimited until 10/14. limit 2(guessing 2 per visit?) i also see hostess for 1.99in coupon center probably overlapping with in-ad coupon but there is .50 facebook coupon. too bad already bought one from winco;;

Jolene September 15, 2011 at 9:45 AM

Do you think the coupon for the Recycle Bank is before or after coupons??

Jolene September 15, 2011 at 9:51 AM

Looked up the coupon for $5/50 can only be used in the Morgan Hill, CA stores.

Jenell September 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM

I just saw the restriction that is has to be used in Morgan Hill stores. I live in Campbell, close to Morgan Hill and have been using it. I will stop now that I see the restriction. When I printed it, I never saw the restriction for Morgan Hill stores. Bummer!

Charlene September 15, 2011 at 10:36 AM

Well now we know if they keep it under a specific zip that is why :)

jennifer September 15, 2011 at 12:26 PM

I got the milk coupon on my Just 4 U and used it today with no problems. I also got a Just 4 U deal for free Kraft Homestyle Mac n cheese.

Nikki September 15, 2011 at 2:55 PM

I have checked 3 times now and there is no Prego coupon in my SS from 9/11 :(

Esmeralda September 15, 2011 at 6:23 PM

for some reason I don’t get all the Just for U deals! not sure why. I guess it could be where I live :( that just sucks!!! Thank you so much for your help :)

anna September 16, 2011 at 1:01 AM

esmeralda, it’s not because of where you live. i signed up a account for me finally after using my grandma’s and hubby’s, and the new one does not give me any good ones. i think you need to have a history of buying either for awhile or specific items to trigger it.

Saryn September 16, 2011 at 6:30 AM

You may want to check in at customer service to see if they will accept the RecycleBank Coupon. I have found that my store will allow it if you ask

Endcapps September 16, 2011 at 8:25 AM

thanks, jennifer! Great price for milk! Yay!

Esmeralda September 16, 2011 at 11:50 AM

Hey anna! thank you!! ya i never get the good in-store coupons. I have only gotten two. One for enfamil and the other for ranch dressing. I should call them and ask them. Thank you again! :)

Wendy September 16, 2011 at 2:34 PM

Hi Charlene. I went to Safeway today and spent $42.15 OOP with $26.38 of card savings and $11 of paper coupons. Total before everything was $79.53 and I got the $10 reward. Strange that it was even before the card savings but I’ll take it.

Charlene September 16, 2011 at 3:18 PM

Oh great Wendy! Thanks for the update.

Sue W September 17, 2011 at 3:24 PM

I also got the $10 catalina at Vons, total after all discounts and coupons was under $75.
