Blockbuster Express: Free Movie Rental (6/6 Only)

Today is Monday which means there is a new code for Blockbuster Express kiosks to get a free movie rental:

MONDAYLOVE

Now these codes are so strange, you can only use them on the $1 movies not the hot releases that are $2.99 (like Gnomeo and Juliet).

Also my suggestion is to just make an account and reserve your movie online. That is the best way to be totally sure the code will work.  A few weeks ago I tested a code before posting and then later went to Blockbuster and the code didn’t work for me.

Be sure the movie gets returned on time or you will have to pay late fees.

Is it like Redbox where you can’t reserve online and then you can’t use a code at the kiosk, maybe?

Mo I think the codes are for people with accounts only. I am thinking that is what happened. I didn’t reserve anything I just tested the code and closed it out.

I just reserved mine online using the code and it worked just fine. I did have to create an account and in the welcome email is another code for another free rental any time. Enjoy!

Anyone know what happens if you reserve online, but then don’t pick it up? I’m wondering if you get charged.

Julie, if you enter the code the total is 0. So if you were charged for some reason it would be 0 🙂

@ Julie, even if you use the code and don’t pick it up, you will be charged. A few Mondays ago, I reserved a movie online and used the promo code, then went to pick it up and the kiosk was broken. I emailed customer service about the broken kiosk, they still charged me for the rental. So I had to email them again to get my money back, and the only thing they did was give me a code for a free rental that was only good for three days. If you look at the fine print in the terms and conditions it tells you that you will be charged for not picking up a movie. Sorry for the long explanation, I just don’t want anyone else to have the same frustrating experience I had!

Hi Julie! That happened to me before and they ended up charging me for $1 for the movie and tax. I called it in and said it is free if you pick it up and it will be a charge if you don’t.

Lily- you were charged $1 when you used a promo code to get a movie for free and you did not pick it up? That is outrageous but good to know.
