Has anyone verified with Walgreen’s corporate office whether the Beauty Booklet coupons are store coupons? Two weeks ago it was a big mess with some stores absolutely denying the use of those coupons, to not allowing them to be stacked to stores where they actually gave them to me at the register & took them with no problem. I know this next week is going to be the same without corporate clarification. (I bet some stores are still cleaned out from that last round)

Kay this is the first I heard about this booklet. I don’t have one but I do have the infant care one and those are clearly not manufacturer coupons.

Those beauty coupons say “Manufacturer coupons good only at Walgreens.”. How do you interpret that?

what the infant care walgreens booklet? where can i get it from

I had a question, I’m not sure if the coupon is from this past sunday but there is a $1/1 colgate manual toothbrush coupon that excludes colgate plus and colgate extra clean. Would I be able to use this coupon for the 2/$5 get $2 RR sale? Thanks in advance!

They are IVC coupons – it is printed right on the front of the coupon just like the ones in the monthly savings booklet – and should be treated the same way WAGS treats all other IVC coupons:) I only had one cashier try to take the coupon during the Almay deal but when I pointed out the front of the coupon says “Instant Value Coupon”, he said “oh, sorry – you’re right.”

The other telling feature of this coupon that makes it clear it is a WAGS IVC is that it takes the face value off of every applicable item you purchased in the transaction – true manufacturer coupons obviously don’t do that…. this is something no one would have noticed during the Almay deal because we were buying only 1 at a time but when I used the BB’s Revlon coupon to buy a few clearance nail polishes the week before the Almay deal, I rec’d $1 off of each bottle.

Hope this helps those that try to use the BB this week!

Walgreens has a special endcap of Always Maxi Leakguard (22 ct.). They are $6 / 2, with $4 back in rewards. If you use $1 / 1 from today’s P&G insert, these are free. This deal is not listed in the paper or advertised well in the store. I just happened upon it.

  8. kay says

    04/03/2011 at 4:19 PM

I pointed out the IVC as well but they did not care….because they say it is a man. coupon not a Wags coupon!! Then they read the part where it says ‘cannot be combined….’ and it also beeps…..that’s why I was hoping for a corporate clarification. This was also the case to a lesser degree with those books that were out last Christmas time. They really need to address this!

Just the other day (or even earlier today, I don’t remember), you had a shopping scenario for Walgreens with three transactions…getting like $28.00 of merchandise for $2.xx. I can’t find that post.

The Scott paper towels – you say there is a Wag’s store coupon for that. Is that in the ad or in the April coupon book? I’m not seeing it in the ad, but I just want to make sure I’m not crazy.

  11. Charlene says

    04/03/2011 at 9:12 PM

Jasmine the chances of me being crazy are significantly higher I am sure. I see in the ad on page 4 next to the Tuf garbage bags it says Scott Naturals paper towels $5 less coupon in store = $4.

  12. Charlene says

    04/03/2011 at 9:15 PM

Wrong blog Laura. I didn’t post that.

  13. Jasmine says

    04/03/2011 at 9:30 PM

Hmm, I see what you are talking about now. It says Instant Value Coupon. I was looking for something I had to clip. So it says Final Cost is $4 and there is a thing that says “coupon savings in most sunday papers). So does that mean the $4 includes the sunday coupon savings, or no? According to your scenario, it does not, but I just want to be clear. I dunno why I am having trouble grasping this. Oh wait, yes I do: I’m 41 weeks pregnant and too tired to function.

  14. Charlene says

    04/03/2011 at 9:50 PM

Jasmine it is listed in the April coupon book with the Easter egg on it. In store coupon will always mean Walgreens coupon book coupon. Is there a chance you are looking at the expired March book?

  15. Jasmine says

    04/03/2011 at 10:00 PM

Haha, this is funny. I was looking at page 4 in the ad and the Scott towels just happened to be on that page. Man, I’m a mess. Okay, so it’s the April coupon book then. It all makes sense now. I haven’t grabbed one of those yet.

  16. Charlene says

    04/03/2011 at 10:08 PM

Happens to me all the time and I don’t have the excuse of being pregnant 😛

So I get the Sunday paper every week, but I don’t have the $0.35/1 Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 4-23-11 (SS 04/03/11) in my SS. I’m in Modesto. =(

I tried the Always deal and didnt get any RR back. Also, tried the Colgate deal and no RR. My ad just says 20x points on colgate, and i have no idea what that means. The color wonder worked though and was in stock!

  19. Charlene says

    04/05/2011 at 7:51 AM

Oh Angi- you have problems darlin. If your ad says points then you must live in one of the test cities- there are 3 I think- Portland, Kansas City and I forget where else. Basically your ad is going to be 100% different from everyone else. So if you ever see a Walgreens deal involving a Register Reward you will never get it. They have this points program instead and from what I understand the points are terrible and people hate the program.

Tracie at Penny Pinchin Mom does the points matchups for Walgreens- you can see her deals here:

You are correct! Im in kc. Yep the points deal seems pretty lame. Thanks for the info!
