I used a Raley’s coupon for $10 off a $75 purchase as well. The total before coupons was $84 and after was $38.
A few notes, the first is that I got very lucky with store coupons this week but for those not in California, both of these stores are very expensive stores. Raley’s usually offers one free item per week but it is not a cheap place to shop by any means.
Also, I do not have double coupons in my area or the savings would have been considerably more. My coupons are redeemed at face value only.
How was your shopping this week?

I did really well at Raley’s too! Before coupons my total was $105 by the end it was down to $38! Then went to Safeway to have a Just 4U problem fixed off my recept from last week, then turned that into buying mangoes and kiwis 😀 My boys couldn’t be happier
I shopped at Raley’s today too… I got the same tomatoes, but had a 50cent off coupon. Loved all the freebies… I also had a coupon from their website for $1.99 Hormel Naturals Lunchmeat, which we really like and is usually over $4 a piece, so that was even cheaper than Target’s everyday price.
Yeah I think all that was in the matchups. I already used the tomato coupon but it is listed in the weekly deals.
I did to 2 transactions at Safeway
3 Hallmark cards for a total of 8.34 and got back $5
Second Transaction I got 2 4lb Bags of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts at 4.99 each and 2 Philadelphia cooking cremes. I had 2 $1.50 of chicken when I buy Philadelphia cooking creme and I had 2 Free Philadelphia Cooking Creme coupons. So I got my chicken and cooking cremes for $6.98 minus the $5 from the Cards my total was $1.98!
My Raleys trip wasn’t as great as I hoped for! My total was $23.96 but that’s because the cashier wouldn’t let me use my internet printables, so it should of been $5 more off and plus I forget to hand him one of my other coupons for $3!
He told me that Raleys has stopped taking Internet Printables because they are not getting there money back on them. He said that they just started this. Did anyone else have this problem?
Challenge butter has the Real CA milk seal, so you can always go to http://www.realcaliforniamilk.com/for-californians/coupons/ and print out a coupon to use in addition to a Challenge butter coupon which makes the deal even better.
Sara- I used a $2 off coupon to make it $.29. I wouldn’t have been able to use a second manufacturer coupon on top of that. The one I used for $2 and the Real CA coupon are both manufacturer coupons.
i think it is awesome you let us know what you buy for your family. your purchases are similar to what i provide for my family. you use coupons yet still buy wholesome items, like spending extra on the certified organic milk.
I had an AWESOME trip to Raleys today too and had to share with you because I know you understand and because you helped me put my trip together! I sent you a picture of my trip b/c I was so happy!

AND for spending $100 I got a coupon for .25 off per gallon for 90 days!
I did really well at Raley’s today myself! If you consider my savings from the full retail price, as they do on the receipt, I saved $98.87 and spent $38.32 for a 74% savings!!! I was lovin’ Raley’s this week! And then I made a quick stop into Target to do the Kashi cereal deal. We were having a cereal crisis in our house (less then 5 boxes) and I bought 11 boxes today …. so we’re feeling better around here!
Sheila that is awesome. I have to say I am tempted to do another round 🙂 The Hormel is $4 before coupon so the full $4 counts toward the total. If we needed chicken I would be all over it. That chicken is so much better than the stuff I have been getting at Safeway.
Hilary- somehow the junk still creeps in 😛 But I am so happy opening the fridge right now. We have milk, tons of fresh berries, chopped pineapple, salad. I am really making an effort to buy the best quality we can 🙂
Went to Raley’s and thanks to you Charlene I saved 64%. Total before coupons was $175, OOP $69, saved $106!!! Also got the Splenda and Clorox catalinas. Stopped at Safeway before hand and saved 54%. This was one of my best weeks, considering I got (2) pot roasts (B1G1 Free @Safeway), ground beef, boneless chicken breasts and thighs, pork shoulder, fruits, veggies and (2) gallons of milk among other things. Thanks again for all the work you put into your site!
I also stopped by Nugget and Raleys tonight. I was able to get real food that we will eat, and managed to save 69% off retail. I picked up the Snapple rebate form at Nugget, so I will be getting 5.99 from them. Thank you so much for helping me plan, since I wasn’t in the mood for shopping this week. But, we still need to eat…..
Thanks so much for sharing your shopping trips with us!! I love seeing real food items and meal planning~ so many other sites talk about extreme couponing and all they show are all the free mustards and toothpastes they get (neither of which will feed my family week to week.) Your site is so practical and real. Thanks!!
Charlene, I keep reading the Nugget transaction and I can’t see where you got down to $29.08! I see that you used the Iced Tea to get over $50 so you could use your RecycleBank coupon, but wouldn’t that make your total spent about $39.08? What am I not seeing here?!
I think you aren’t accounting for the coupons I used. It all adds up for me:
4.99 + .29 + 3.49 + 1.20 + 3.99 + 1.50 + 1.41 + 1.58 + 7.92 + 1.49 + 1.99 + 5.99 + .99 + .45= $37.28 – $10 coupon = $27.28 + tax
LOL! Dork. Thanks:) I think I was thinking the $49 amount was AFTER q’s!
Have to share my Nob Hill trip from yesterday too. I saved just under $90, and spent $48, for a 64 per cent savings! I used the $10 off $75 coupon, got all 3 freebies, and matched store sales with manufacturer coupons. They have great produce deals his week. My store had tear pads for $1/1 Ortega products, so I got 2 packages of taco shells for 50 cents, and 2 small cans of chiles for 19 cents each. I’m thinking of going back for more. Thanks so much for your blog, I’ve been telling all my friends about it.
I forgot to add I got 40 cents in bag credits, and 2 store catalinas, one for free Raley’s pasta sauce with a $5 purchase, and another for a $1 off bakery purchase.
