Hi. I know this is a weird question but I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions or the same issue. I live in a small town and dont shop on Sundays. If I go to Walgreen’s on Monday, it’s almost guareented that Walgreen’s will be out of alll the great deals. My store stocks such a small amount and then doesn’t restock till after the deal is over. If it is a month long register reward deal- you can also guarantee that it’ll be gone after the first Sunday of the month. I wish I could take advantage of some of these great deals… Any ideas… Besides start shopping on Sunday.
Thank you for alll the hard work you do on your site- I LOVE it and know that you must commit a ton of tine. Thanks again!!!

Becky – have you tried asking for a raincheck? I have done it without any problems, and the store manager also calls me when the item comes in.

I have the same problem. I typically try to go on Sunday but it doesnt always pan out that way. I live in Chicago and have 50 walgreens around me, but they are horrible with staying stocked up. As a matter of fact, I am going to my Walgreens today to see if I can get a rain check or if they can substitute something else for me. I agree that the free items with the register rewards are stocked after its over. I am going to express my concern to them because I am a loyal customer to them. I will be sure to let you know what they say.

Becky – I have the same problem. We don’t shop on Sundays either and when I go to Walgreens on Monday, the good deals are gone. I can get rainchecks but there will be no register reward later so that sometimes busts the deal. We only have one Walgreens and live in a small town as well. I’ve found success with the month long RR deals, usually the shelf clearers forget about them after the first week and there will be some stock later in the month. Love your blog, Charlene!

I have been able to get some of the next weeks deals before closing on Sat night. If they have the shelf tags up already, my Walgreens honors the next week’s price. Won’t hurt to ask.

Are you sure I can use the $4/off Sinex product on the sale price for Dayquil or Nyquil? I know they are both Vicks products but the Walgreens in-ad coupon only says Dayquil or Nyquil.

  8. Charlene says

    03/05/2011 at 7:04 PM

Pam I think so because the packages say Dayquil or Nyquil. Just double check the counts but you can see right here:

Becky- Especially if it is a beauty item, you can ask when they get deliveries or ask them to order some extra for you. I’ve found that the beauty counter people are really helpful, and I’ve even had them tell me exactly when their deliveries will be coming in (they will sometimes specifically order extras of a popular sale items to come in on the mid or late week delivery). They may not always restock, but you can sometimes still get what you need if you know who to ask.

I have also had an issue with missing out on deals on Sunday. One thing I have tried doing that I think helps with Walgreens is I do all of my studying for the next weeks deals on Saturday. If there is something that I really need and if it is a really good deal then I get all of my coupons ready to go on Saturday I also go ahead and write down which coupons I need to clip before church the next morning (takes me maybe five minutes). Then I know exactly what I need. So when we are on our way home from church I run in and out. I am so fast my husband can stay in the car. Its a win-win. I go home and rest with my family and we get our freebies too!

Does anyone know what the 15.00 in coupons is for the Coke, Hershey’s, or Planters? It does not indicate that it is register rewards but coupons.

    I was just curious.

Couponers sometimes are very competitive. I live in a small town and we know who the couponers are and where they shop at. So one person who also uses coupons, complained to the manager about me taking all the stuff when she actually does the same thing.

I never whine when they stuff is going, I figured someone else got it. It doesn’t pay to complain because now the manager told me they will limit the amount of items peple can buy where there is a register reward. I told him no problem, I will go to another one where the managers actually encourage me to get whatever I want. They want the stuff out of the store. Sometimes I take a lot of their clearance items and they really appreciate it that.

FYI…Just made a run to Wags and found the Lysol wipes in a BOGO plastic bound 2 pack for the advertised BOGO. In my area (Houston), these rang up $3.69 and the second rings up FREE!!! So, if you have the $1/1 from this week’s paper, use two and get two packs of two each for a total of 4- 35 count wipes for $1.69. This works out to only $0.43 each!!!!!!!!!!! Without the Q it is still a great deal at about $0.93 each.

Just left my Walgreens in Miami and they had the Purex on sale for $2.99 I had one coupon left from the CVS sale (my CVS ran out of Purex) so if you have any of the $3 off coupons left you may want to check your Walgreens!! I wish I had more of those $3 off coupons now!!

Does somebody know if Register Rewards from walgreens suppose to roll up or not?
Today I bougth the 2 softsoap body wash for 7.00 both and i got a 5.00 Register Reward, then i decided to get 2 more for only 2.67 wich is the difference, even when the cashier advice me that if I use that RR won’t print again a 5.00 RR I just decided to use it, but surprisingly another 5.00 RR came out, the cashier got surprised too. Then, i went to use on another walgreens that is on my way to my work place and it rolled up, paid 2.67 for both body wash and i still having my 5.00 RR… may be walgreens change their policy coupon about rolling coupons and nobody knows???

  19. Charlene says

    03/08/2011 at 11:05 PM

Jose sometimes there are glitches and the RR roll but that can literally change in a moment’s notice if Walgreens corrects it. I think most people don’t want to risk their RR by trying to roll them each week and I usually don’t post if they are rolling. I don’t like to risk people’s money and if it works at 9.08 am- well they can fix it at 10.08 am or they may never fix it at all- there is no way of knowing.

  20. Amy says

    03/09/2011 at 9:20 AM

One thing I notice with the register rewards here (I am in wisconsin), especially in the summer, say there is a deal for razors , deodorant, whatev free after the register reward. You will go to walgreens on a sunday afternoon and they are already out?! AND THEN you go to a rummage sale a few days later and the people have 50 packs of these razors that they scored for free and are reselling for 2.00 a piece. SOOOOO annoying, I don’t even know how this is possible as there is supposed to be a limit?

  21. Joel says

    03/10/2011 at 9:49 AM

I also prefer not to shop on Sunday – sometimes I can get to the Walgreens on Sunday afternoon (for me, shopping is acutally very restful), but the freebies are often way gone by then. The new Rain Check Forms at CVS actually have a line for the ECB amount, so if you get the rain check and get the item the next week , they should issue the ECB also. Wish Walgreens would do that!

Has anyone else had trouble with the $5 RR for Bannan Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, Schick or Skintimate printing?
