    Charlene –

I know you do a lot of deals with the Walgreen’s coupon booklet and manufacturer’s coupons. I called Corporate and they informed me that the Walgreen’s coupon in the booklet is considered a manufacturer’s coupon. This is the reason that the coupon beeps when we try to use both, when we submit the Walgreen’s booklet coupon first. The reason I call Corporate was because I have had several cashiers tell me that both could not be used at the same time even when I tried to use the Walgreen booklet coupon last.

Cheryl, I had same experience. it looks like that they made this change as of 1/1/11.

I have used both at the same time and never had it beep or had any problems for that matter. It does say on them that it is a manufacturer’s coupon but also states good only at Walgreens which means it is a store coupon so I am not sure my store’s never seem to have a problem with it.

I don’t believe that is correct. First, a manufacturer coupon you would be able to use in the store of your choice. You can not use those coupons in any store except Walgreens. The Walgreens coupon policy, which is available on their web site and linked at the top of the post, says you can stack Walgreens coupons and manufacturer coupons. In addition, if you look at the 1/23 SS insert there is a 2 page ad featuring the January coupon book. For the Kraft Salad Dressing they show right in the ad to stack the “Playbook coupons” which are pictured as the January coupon book with a manufacturer coupon. So if they made this change as of the first of the year why are they advertising in a national publication to stack the coupons?

I think you are getting someone that just doesn’t understand coupons or that is intentionally trying to be difficult. I personally choose not to shop at Walgreens because it is a headache each time I go. I did however buy the Mac and Cheese a few weeks ago and had a manager check me out and he used both coupons just fine. I think you can decide if you want to follow the rules they are making up or you can continue to fight with them or just don’t shop there anymore.

My ex husband is a manager for Walgreens. He’s always telling his cusomter how to stack coupns and get the best deals ever. LAst week I tryed using the Mac and cheese coupon at another Walgreens and the same thing happened to me. He said the coupons in the Walgreens coupon book are Walgreens coupons. He also told me to do all my manufactuer coupons first then my Walgreen ones. So I did that and it worked.

Thanks for the feedback Christy. For some reason Walgreens is just such a pain to me. It just reminds me of the 3 Stooges Who is on 1st routine 😉

Hi all, I tried to use the Walgreen’s coupon for the M&M’s deal last week and the register treated it as a manu coupon instead of a wags coupon. So it wouldn’t let me do it. I gave them the printable coupon first and it took but then it beeped when they tried the one in the book. That particular one says “Manufacturer Coupon good at Walgreen’s”. I think this is their way of getting around using both on certain items. The Kraft Mac N Cheese worked just fine and I was able to stack the wags coupon and the manu coupon. It’s a challenge to shop there but they do have nice people working at my Walgreen’s who really like seeing the coupon mixes that people are able to use. I know at least 2 of my checkers do the same matchups.

I am shopping in Wags less and less because it is real pain. I had troubles using IVC for mac and cheese and for planters nuts. I have been told that I cant stack coupons anymore. Since then I havent been to Wags and not even planning to go back any soon.

Thank you Charlene, I was able to use both Walgreens and MQ today and between 2 stores I shopped at I received over $45 in merchandise for $3 after RR, MQ and ECB. Thanks for all you do and more!!!!!

I’m not sure if you are aware of this but if you notice manufacturer coupons, they ALL begin with a small 5 before the UPC. Store manufacturer coupons usually begin with another number, be it a 0, 1, etc. Many cashiers are not aware of their store’s coupon policy, Walgreens especially.

I had trouble at Wags tonight. Cashier and manager wouldn’t let me stack. : ( We do, however, have 3 Walgreens in town and I’ll try the one I usually go to in my normal day-time hours where they have never had an issue with it. : )

I could only print one thermacare coupon, which I can understand. What I don’t get, is the one I printed had an expiration date of 10/7/2009!!!! :o(

I had trouble at my local Walgreen’s last week with a manufacturer coupon I received at my dentist’s office for Glide floss. I told the cashier to cover up half the barcode on the coupon and it worked. I used the identical coupon at another Walgreen’s in town and there was no problem. Makes you wonder.
