There is a hidden ECB deal at CVS this week. Boiron Chestal Cough Syrup in Honey flavor is priced at $5 with a $5 ECB back.
I found peelies on the boxes for $1 off. Otherwise if you have the 1/24 RP from 2010 there is a $1.50/1 coupon that is still available. There is a $1/1 printable coupon available- but keep in mind some stores will not accept pdf coupons.
This was not the children’s version but rather the adults. The sign said the sale is running through 1/22.
See the rest of this week’s CVS deals here.
*As always with an ECB sale that is unadvertised, you want to look for signs in your store advertising the ECB. If you don’t see signs, you can certainly buy the product and if the ECB does not print just return it.

Couldn’t find the adults in the store I checked today, darn!
To save the buy/return headache, you could always scan for price at the coupon machine too; If it’s not $5, then don’t buy 🙂

I didn’t even know they made an adult version. We LOVE the kids’ version of this stuff, but it can get pricey. Thanks so much for the heads up. I’ll need to run and and grab some.
The cost of OTC medicines during cold season can really get up there, so thanks so much for this.

Oh, I wish I would have seen this post before I went to CVS on my lunch break! I saw this posted on another site, but it listed the children’s for the deal, not the adult, and as you mentioned, it is not for the children’s! Although, I still ended up buying the children’s since my 2 year old has a cough and cold thing, but it was not cheap!

Well of course Samantha I would obviously scan it. With these types of deals almost every single time I will have several comments from people that don’t get the ECB. So if you don’t get it just return the item or call CVS and ask if they can push it through. I was just trying to save people the trouble of asking me what to do and myself of responding to each person that asks.
Charlene says
Yuck I am sorry you wasted a trip Melinda 🙁 I decided awhile back that I would rather be the last to post and do my very best to have accurate info than be the first to post with inaccurate info. I wanted to check this before I mentioned it to be certain.
Nicole says
That is why we love you Charlene!

Just wanted to let you know that the adult syrup has the same age restrictions/dosage as the children’s (2+) so I was able to return the full price children’s and purchase an adult syrup for $5 and get the $5 ECB back. Thanks for all you do 🙂

Yup – you are correct! A lot of children’s and adult meds are EXACTLY the same, and only vary by dosage instructions. I don’t have children, but I often will get the children’s meds or vitamins when they are on freebie specials and then just use them for myself at the adult level dosage. 🙂 I have recently gotten a bottle of the children’s GO! gummie vitamins at Walgreens, free after RR, and they are actually the best tasting gummie vitamins I have ever had. LOL

Oh and another tip – when you see these unadvertised deals posted, you should still always scan the product at the red machine. The Children’s came up full price, but the adult came up showing the retail, but below it said the price was $5 for those with a CVS card, so I knew that had to be the one with the special sale and EBs.

I went to three CVS stores and found only at the last one. It is indeed hard to find – usually at the very bottom shelving.
Sandy says
When does the 1/24/10 RP coupon expire?
Charlene says
Sandy it expires 12/31/11.
Sandy says
Man..I must have thought it was 12/31/10 and tossed it out. oh well…thanks for the quick reply!!
Heidi says
Does anyone know if there is a limit to ECBs on this deal? Since it’s unadvertised do you just assume that it’s one? Also, is there a coupon code as far as how many coupons you can print when it’s a PDF coupon?
naomi says
Mine had no tags, but scanned it anf it was $5,did get the ECBs and the limit is 1.
