We are hosting Christmas this week so this week I went super light on regular shopping to compensate for what I need to spend for our holiday dinner.

Click below to see the breakdown.

RALEY’S: $12.98

3 bags fingerling potatoes/ 1 bag honey gold 2/$3.49 = $6.98
Baby Bella Mushrooms $2
Knudsen Sparkling Cider $2 each

TARGET: $17.65 (paid $10 on a gift card)

4 Wonka Candy $2.98 (did the deal I posted here)

Ice Cream $2.99-used $1 coupon

SAFEWAY: $38.25

Oranges $1.05
5 Tillamook Cheese $3.99 (no I have not gone crazy. I usually pay $8.99 for these at Costco so this was a big stock up moment for me.)
Gruyere Cheese $6.69
Goat Cheese $3.99
Buttermilk $1.19
Grape Tomatoes $2
Shallot $.17
Red Onion $1.21
Sfwy Chocolate Chips $1.39- Used .50/1 Safeway coupon =.89
Pepsi Max- Free with Just for U coupon
Pineapple .99

CVS: $2

Transaction #1

Bought 4 bags of M&Ms $2.50 each
Used $1 ECB and $3 ECB (bonus birthday ECBs!) and $2/3 coupon
Paid $1 and got $4 ECB back

Transaction #2

Buy 2 Bandaids at $2.49 each
Used $4 ECB and paid $1

Got $4 ECB back

So I spent $60 and we have nearly everything for Christmas.  I still need to get fresh salad mix on Christmas Eve and we actually bought a ham and Prime Rib a few weeks ago.  We have wine in the cellar so the cider is for the kiddos.  I went on a candy binge this week because the Wonka is for stockings  and the M&Ms are for Rice Krispie treats we are making for preschool, the neighbors and Mama Santa.

Yes, that tillamook price is awesome! I’m going today to get some of that. Question…..you said it freezes well, right? So it grates ok after frozen? And slices? I’m trying to decide how much to get.

Hey Amy! I have never noticed a difference when I freeze cheese but I haven’t tried Tillamook before. I have done the Lucerne with no problems and the bag Kraft cheese. Just probably put it in a Ziploc. I think with this I won’t freeze it. We have one of those little fridges for drinks in the garage that came with our house. I will probably put these out there to keep my Coffeemate company. The packs I got are good through 9/11 so I think as long as they are sealed they will be ok either way.

I went and bought 4 blocks of cheese today and I love that they are good through 9/11. I will not freeze these. I usually freeze grated/shredded cheese. Great deal on the cheese, Thanks!

Amy, in my experience you would only want to freeze shredded cheese, I don’t think cheese slices well after it has been frozen. This is a great price for the cheese and it you want to freeze it, I would grate it first. That is just my two cents worth 🙂 Hope you have a great Christmas!
