Well darn. I have two things to tell you about today:
::If you have purchased any of the movie ticket deals featuring Weekly Cinema, you will want to take care of this right away. They have apparently gone out of business. I have posted the deals from Groupon a few times and Living Social as well. Not to worry because Groupon will issue a refund.
You can contact Living Social at 877-521-4191 or via email at [email protected]
You can contact Groupon at [email protected] or call 1 (877) 788-7858 (during normal business hours, central time). I can tell you I had an issue once and they handled it immediately for me- so hopefully you get the same great service!
Now if you already redeemed your vouchers and have the tickets printed from Fandango you should be just fine.

The second is regarding the Toys R Us/ Hasbro gift card. It appears that some stores have pulled the $10/35 gift card offer early this week.
I don’t know if this is a corporate issue or what is going on but I can still see the offer clearly in the online ad. If you intend to take advantage of this offer before tomorrow, it might be worth a quick phone call to your store before you head out just in case.
I have heard from several of you that had no problems at all- but I just want to make you aware that there might be an issue.
Thanks Southern Savers and For the Mommas
Thanks for the info! I had bought one off Living Social, so called, and was immediately given a refund! No problems.
I just got a refund from LivingSocial with no problem. I had even used one of the tickets and they said they would still refund the full amount. Plus, they gave my account a $5 credit. We were all set to use them for Harry Potter next week, so I am a little bummed, but at least I got my money back.
i bought $35 worth of hasbro and the signs were clearly posted all over the giant hasbro display area. when i got to the register they said they had run out of cards. i let them know then clearly they should have the courtesy to remove the signs. i purchased the games anyway because we had to have cuponk for the holidays and the rest we are donating and they were so ridiculously cheap with the hasbro rebate anyway. however toys r us customer service in general pretty much is the worst. They don’t know how to graciously give a promotion. I hate that when they give a gift card with purchase they reduce the “return” price to take away that gift card amount. totally ridiculous.
Charlene,
Thank you for posting the info about Living Social. They were quick and the refund is coming. I appreciate the extra work and effort you do! Thank you.
well i’m glad I got my tickets in time, whew! but that’s too bad. ;(
I bought the games at Toys R Us and for some reason the gift card was not generated. I asked about it and the cashier looked. He said because of the rebate promotion, the register didn’t tagged those items. Anyway, he was very nice and gave me $10 off my purchase instead. I was happy with that!
I bought 2 of the $3 games and 1 of the $10 games and the register still issued me a $10 giftcard…..weird. Maybe that is why the promo is getting pulled?
Too bad about weekly cinema! I hope they honor the refunds for unused tickets….
Oh Amanda that is probably why. The cards were ringing up on the pre sale purchase prices. Poop, someone told me that and I forgot to post it. They mentioned it in the comments for this deal days ago.
I bought over $35 in Hasbro games at TRU last night. It didn’t issue a gift card and when I pointed that out, the manager apologized and said that the promo wasn’t automatically coming up at their location for some reason. She then took $10 off of another item I purchased (not a Hasbro game) and refunded it to my credit card. I ended up getting $10.98 back with tax. 🙂
I actually ended up registering for an account with Weekly Cinema for $19.99 a month and had 8 unused tickets. Have you heard anything about what happens with those of us who went directly through them for the discount? This makes me really nervous…
Shayla, I didn’t post about that offer because I didn’t have that much confidence in this company. I do have confidence in Groupon and Living Social. I don’t see much information on the site but there is some contact information here:

I received an email from Groupon refunding the full amount of my purchase for Weekly Cinema, whether I had used some of the tickets or not! I am so disappointed to not be able to use these cheap tickets for Harry Potter, but I am really pleased with Groupon’s response. Sigh…
thanks so much for the heads up…just got my refund and the $5 credit for LivingSocial!
just wanted to say thanks for sending this info. i had purchased the 4 movie tickets through living social. just called them using the number you provided and they credited our credit card immediately. no problem at all.
