Thanks Jasmine. How it works is that the cash back will go automatically into your account when you make a purchase. At the end of the quarter the various merchants will cut checks to Ebates and Shop at Home. If there are any unauthorized codes used they will deduct that from what they pay the cash back sites. They in turn will remove the funds from your account. So you may see it in your account, but come February when they actually mail you a check it will likely be removed before they pay. I would invite you to contact the cash back companies directly and just ask them.
I think I am just going to give up on arguing this point because I have the feeling some of you think I am making this up. I have had lengthly conversations with both cash back companies on this issue and I hate to tell people they will get something they won’t actually get. I seem to be the only one fighting a losing battle on this one ;).

Jasmine- I used to work for a cash back company and she is exactly right. I was in customer service dealing with angry people all day that thought we were cheating them out of their money. Occasionally the rebates do go through but most likely it will not be paid out. You can see if the site had the code listed, if they do not you probably won’t get paid.
Charlene- I would give up on this issue. You won’t win because every other blog out there is convincing them to use the cash back sites and they don’t care if people actually get paid or not.

Kim did you get it to work? You have to be careful there are no extra spaces in the code and also sometimes if you are checking out as a guest the codes won’t work.
Thanks Charlene, I used cut and paste for the code and made sure there were no extra spaces. I am also signed in, not as a guest. I don’t know what the problem is. I may just go ahead and buy it anyway though.
