CLOSED. Giveaway: Hoover Floormate Vacuum

07/26/2010

Share

I heard about the Hoover Floormate about a year ago.  A friend of mine was telling me she cleans her bathroom floors in 5 minutes with the Floormate and how much she loved it.

When Hoover contacted me to review the Floormate I jumped.  Literally.  And then waited at the door for 2 weeks until it arrived.  Finally my little box of heaven arrived and I tested it out that same day.  We have a lot of carpet in our house but the kitchen floor and I are arch rivals.  We have linoleum floors and a 1 year old baby that prefers to throw her meals on the floor than actually eat them.

So the kitchen floor is filthy basically 100% of the time.  Now the floormate is designed for hard floors and it has 3 features- it can vacuum the floor (no sweeping needed!) and then scrub the floor and then it dries them for you!

So I tested the power of this baby by letting Maya have her way with the floor for 2 days.  Usually I am scrubbing away after every meal so the floor under her highchair was pretty bad.  I found the Floormate did an amazing job.  It vacuumed all the little crumbs up perfectly.  The scrub feature got most of the stuff off the floor but I still had to scrub a tiny bit myself to get everything up.  To be fair, Maya had thrown several tomato slices on the floor so there were seeds and things that were a little much for the Floormate.  It did get nearly all of her mess up though and I am guessing normal people won’t have quite the level of mess that I have.  The Floormate does allow you to use a trigger to concentrate the soap into certain spots and there are rotating brushes that work to get it all up.  This baby will get your floors really clean and it is nice and easy to use.  Then just switch it to dry and viola- the floors are all done!!

We have had the Floormate for about a week and I can tell you our floors are cleaner than they have ever been.  I typically vacuum the kitchen once per day and that keeps everything crumb free.  Then I do a scrub every other day- it is pretty simple to do.  Overall I have really loved this machine.  If you have hardwood floors I could see this making your life a lot easier.   For sure it makes cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms so much easier and honestly I think it is cleaner than using a broom and mop.

The Floormate runs on scratch free rubber wheels and has 2 tanks- one for clean water and one for dirty.  You will easily see how much dirt this baby picks up and you don’t have to worry about dumping more dirty water onto the floor when you are cleaning.

This sells for about $149 and you can purchase the Floormate from Target.com for $149.00 with free shipping!

****WIN IT!****

If you want to check out the new Hoover T-Series Floormate for yourself you get 4 chances to win!

1. Leave me a comment and tell me what your least favorite household chore is.  For me the bathrooms are probably my least favorite- so if Hoover could only create a floormate that worked to clean the shower and tub I’d be in for sure!

2. Follow me on Facebook (or let me know you do!)

3. Follow me on Twitter (or let me know you do!)

4. Subscribe to My Frugal Adventures newsletter (just enter your email under the orange box on the right)

I hate to empty the dishwasher!

Jennifer July 29, 2010 at 4:57 PM

My least favorite household chore would be tied between mopping the floor and cleaning the shower!

Jessica July 29, 2010 at 5:16 PM

I hate ALL housework, but I would say dishes are the worst – it’s a never ending job

Amy July 29, 2010 at 5:34 PM

Bathrooms would be my least favorite – especially the shower. And the toilet. And the floor. And the sink. Yeah – pretty much the whole bathroom.

I loathe the tri-fecta of sweeping, vacuuming and then swiffer-wet-jetting our home of hardwood floors. We have a dog that sheds. Sheds is an understatement. Ther are little mini doghair bunnies running rampent around our house! As soon as you finish cleaning, they are back taunting me.

WOW I would love to win one of these, it would sure beat the broom and mop :)

I hate hate hate to do dishes. I don’t have a dishwasher so I get to do them by hand and my family doesn’t know how to rinse things off or reuse the same cup :-) I also REALLY hate to sweep and mop I have a 3 year old and somehow she is like a tornado and manages to destroy the floor with her food and crafts!

The bathroom is pretty bad, another one for me is the fridge – man it freaks me out how GROSS it gets in there so quickly even when you think you’re clean. Also, the microwave for the same reasons!

Thanks so much for the chance to win this!

I would love this! I hate to clean my kitchen floor!

Lauren July 30, 2010 at 2:03 AM

Hope its not too late, but I hate sweeping/mopin my house! I have hardwood and a dog and two cats… need I say more? I am forever trying to get EVERY piece of hair up!

Kathy July 30, 2010 at 5:21 AM

Ugh kitchen! The counters never seem to stay clean, dishes are always in the sink and floor is greasy around the stove. I hate this room but love it at the same time cause of it’s size. My next hated chore is the shower stall.

holly July 30, 2010 at 5:48 AM

I hate sweeping and moping the kitchen floor. I have a 3 & 4 year old so I could clean the floor 20 times a day and it still wouldn’t be clean. I would love a new vacuum. I have been wanting a new one that cleans hardwood floors (even though it is almost 2 decades old). I am sure it would save me some time as well that I could be spending with my family.

Lisa July 30, 2010 at 8:11 AM

My least favorite chore is cleaning the bathroom. Luckily my husband will often do it for me!

I think my least favorite job would be bathrooms… however I do have to mention that since I do not like them my husband does an amazing job… :)

Nina July 30, 2010 at 12:06 PM

My least favorite household chore is the dishes! Our apartment has no dishwasher, so either myself or my husband becomes one. It’s terrible. If only this vacuum did the dishes, now that would lessen my work load dramatically. I love to vacuum, though, and with mine on the fritz, it makes it harder and harder to do so!

I follow you on facebook! And I subscribe to you.
Thanks for a great website!

Mary July 30, 2010 at 1:33 PM

I detest cleaning the bathroom; too much microbiology knowledge lurks in my consciousness (and on bathroom surfaces, altho the kitchen us usually worse, according to research-ick!).

Mary July 30, 2010 at 1:34 PM

Still hate cleaning the bathroom. But love you on Facebook!

Stacy July 30, 2010 at 1:35 PM

Mary July 30, 2010 at 1:35 PM

My least favorite cleaning chore is cleaning the hardwood floors in the whole entire house, such a chore..Once i get all the floors cleaned than the dogs run through muddy or bringing in leaves from outside. So irritating.
