NOTE: I am hearing from more and more of you that have stores that will not allow Register Rewards to print when coupons are used. This is still a minority of stores and something you will need to look out for. This week the Schick razors on page 8 of the ad do indicate that you should look for coupon savings in the Sunday paper on an item with a Register Reward. So clearly it is not Walgreens corporate policy.

Did I miss anything good this week?

Thanks for the match-ups! I just wanted to comment on your post regarding some stores not honoring register rewards with coupons being used. I called corporate today because I had this same problem with my Wags. I had the head store manager call me and apologize. She said that sometimes their is a glitch with the catalina machine and sometimes it needs to be rung up differently. She said that she was leaving a Walgreens $10 gift card fo me for the trouble. Ladies, stick to your guns. I know it can be frustrating.

    Hi Charlene,
Thanks for the list. It is really helpful. Question on the plackers though – mine says 60 ct, whereas the ad in your post shows 90 ct. Will the coupon work?

    Thanks

The Off! Clip On Mosquito Repellent BOGO coupon site isn’t working. I haven’t been able to get it to work since you first posted this. It always says “We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later.”

If you use the $5/2 coupon, why will the RR not print?

  5. Charlene says

    04/23/2010 at 4:48 PM

I was hoping the coupon said 60 ct or more rather than 60 count but I probably won’t get a chance to double check until later tonight.

  6. Charlene says

    04/23/2010 at 5:29 PM

We discussed this on the last deal- the coupon and the RR are coded the same so the computer thinks you are paying with a RR. Your RR won’t print again and catalina will not send anymore missing cats for this offer.

I’m not sure why, but I did the benadryl a few days ago and used the $5/2 coupon and it did give me a $5 RR???

    04/23/2010 at 8:30 PM

Plackers MQ is for 60 ct or higher. Thanks for the match-ups!

My Wags now refuses to take man coupons before in ad they insist on in ad and then man coupons, which hurts some of the deals such as the Reach. They will only deduct $1.99 for the BOGO coupon instead of the $3.99!

    04/24/2010 at 12:07 PM

The WAGS ad I received today for Northern California says on the Hershey’s candy, it is 2/$5, less Wags Coupon of $1/2, so 2/$4. If it was just the .50/1 would be better so I could use the $1/3 coupon. But now would have to buy 6 to use the $1/3 coupon..

    Hello,

RE: the Hershey’s candy sale… the suggestion of “*Don’t forget the free movie ticket when you buy 4 bags HERE!”…. to qualify for the move tickets you need to have 10 oz or larger bags, otherwise I would qualify for several as I have plenty from Easter sales.

    Tks for your post :o)

Awesome Deal Tereza! Would love to know if that will work or not. Thumbs up!!

Wags in Sacramento on Madison Ave. won’t take coupons and give you a RR. This has happened to me twice. I won’t go back to that store. They are right across from Target. I didn’t get the RR for the Plackers and I got overcharged on the Tilex, they charged me $4.59 each rather than $3.00 so be careful !!

  15. Elizabeth says

    04/25/2010 at 4:10 PM

The info you gave is incorrect for the tape – If you give the MQ before the ad in coupon you pay $3.03 in tax (when you buy 6) if you do it the other way they have to price modify the last coupon to .94 but you only pay .36 in tax. The choice is yours.

  16. Charlene says

    04/25/2010 at 7:48 PM

Elizabeth the vast majority of cashiers will either refuse to adjust the coupon or won’t know how to do it so I always find it easier to give the MQ first.

  17. Anabel says

    04/26/2010 at 9:07 AM

    Hi Cathy,
I shop at the same Wags on Madison and I’ve never encountered any of the problems you mentioned. I do try to check out at the beauty shop as much as possible. They are hella nicer and way more patient. On the other hand don’t ever go to the Wags on Greenback and Dewey, they are awful. I don’t even go there even if I’m desperate.

  18. Cathy says

    04/26/2010 at 3:42 PM

Anabel, interesting ! thank you for the info.

I have had really bad bad luck at that store on Madison. I go on weekends only and they ALWAYS overcharge me !! It’s so frustrating.

But I am glad to hear that you haven’t had problems there.

I have re structured the way I shop there now after yesterday’s fiasco.

The store kept my receipt after I had them adjust the price on the 2 tilex.

So I am new the game but I am learning !! from now on I’m going to do one transaction at a time to avoid problems and make sure I am not overcharged and that I get the RR.

Charlene.. have you tried to use the coupon linked for the Scotch Tape? The coupon looks to be for a multi-pack instead of individuals as per the ad.. I have serious doubts that it’ll be accepted at my Wags.. πŸ™ They’re pretty good to allow most deals Im after.. but I reallly doubt this one.

  20. Charlene says

    04/26/2010 at 6:12 PM

No I haven’t tried to print that coupon but I did see a few transactions from other blogs where people used it. I think .99 is a good price even if they won’t take it.

  21. Kris says

    04/26/2010 at 6:47 PM

I tried the Scotch packaging tape deal today and it wouldn’t work. I made sure to give the cashier my mfq first and when her register beeped after the Wags coupon she called the manager over and even he couldn’t get it to work. I kept saying, “Can’t you adjust it to make the item free?” and he said that for the coupons I could use one or the other, not both. Not sure if it was just the store, but I’m not going back to try again.

  22. Laura says

    04/26/2010 at 10:22 PM

Does anyone know if the Stayfree Dry Max thin pads in the baby blue packaging is included? I know at Rite Aid they always just show the dark blue packaging ones in the ad but the Dry max rings up the sale price also.

  23. Jenny says

    04/27/2010 at 11:01 AM

The website for the BOGO free OFF repelant is working again: http://www.offcliponsavings.com.

  24. mtnhoney says

    04/28/2010 at 12:07 PM

Scotch has pulled the $1 coupon, so now it only shows the $3 one. You must have an additional item in your transaction to eat up the 1 cent in overage otherwise the computer will beep.

  25. Kelly says

    04/29/2010 at 4:06 PM

Just got back from my local WAGS and they had all their Pantene 2in1’s on clearance for $2.17 each, use $3/2, exp. tomorrow 4/30, & they’re $.67 ea! Keep your eyes out at your locations!

There seems to be a serious deal to be had on the Hawaiian Tropic sunblock register rewards for this week. I didn’t see anybody mentioning it, so I thought I’d bring it up. If it has already been discussed/posted then please forgive me.

The Hawaiian Tropic sunblock is on sale for $7.99 (6-8oz size only). There is a RR deal that if you buy $15 worth you get $5 RR and if you buy $20 you get $8 RR back. In addition, HT website had a coupon for $1 off not that long ago that you can print twice, and there was a coupon in one of the papers recently (SS or RP I’m not sure which) for another $1 off I think. But, even better, Walgreens display had a bunch of coupons on the bottles and separately in little fliers next to the lotions for $2 off. I bought 4 lotions at $7.99 and got the $8 RR (not sure if you could only buy 3 to get the $8RR–new at this you see) and then I used 4 $2 off coupons. AWESOME. I’m all stocked up on sunblock for the summer πŸ™‚

  27. Charlene says

    04/29/2010 at 5:01 PM

    Ok so let’s see:

    buy 3 at $7.99 = $23.97
    Use (3) $1/1 coupons = $20.97
    Get $8 RR = $12.97 or $4.32 each

If you find the $2 off coupons than pay $3 less making them $3.32 each?

    is that right?

  28. Heidi says

    04/29/2010 at 5:11 PM

I think that’s right, though if you use the $2 off coupons don’t you need to purchase one more sunblock to make the $20 amount for the RR? That’s what I wasn’t sure of—does the RR deal take into account the price before or after coupons?

  29. Charlene says

    04/29/2010 at 5:13 PM

    Heidi it is before coupons.
