Any great deals this week I missed? Let us know what you find!

***IMPORTANT NOTE: There is something weird with the barcode on this coupon that will prevent your Register Reward from printing on this deal.ย  So you have two options:

1. You can just buy the product and leave your store without the Register Reward.ย  Once you are home either call or email Catalina company and they can mail you the Register Reward.ย  (See the bottom of the post HERE for details).

2. You can head over to Rite Aid- see how Shannon scored a ton of free Benadryl right HERE.

FYI – thanks for mentioning the Kashi cereal deal…I have $1.50/1 coupons that came in the mail,so this would mean FREE cereal if they have Heart to Heart there.

I had trouble with the allergy meds today. Purchased 2 Sudafed PE and used the $5 coupon from today’s paper but the RR didn’t print. The manager said that they are getting picky about “combining promotions” and that if you use a coupon the RR will not print. I’ve never had this happen before, anybody know if it is a new thing or just an error?

I bought the 2 benadry and used the 5/2 coupon, but the RR didn’t print. They rerung it without the coupon and then it did print. Anybody else run into this problem?

  7. Charlene says

    04/11/2010 at 2:48 PM

Brianna a reader told me that if the coupon starts with a certain number the RR won’t print. I didn’t get any other details and I am not familiar with this glitch but that might be the case.

I also didn’t get a RR for the 2 Benadryl. Mgr said the same thing….that W is cracking down & that if you use a manufacturer coupon you won’t get RR. That clearly isn’t the whole story, since my Kashi RR did print even though I used Kashi coupons. I’m going to Walgreens less & less these days…it’s just too hard to use the RR w/o a problem.

I had the same problem with the register reward and the manager said I couldn’t use a coupon with it. I ended up buying the stuff anyway since I needed it. I just sent an e-mail to Catalina so we will see if I hear anything from them about it.

I tried contacting Catalina and they were not at all helpful. They told me that sometimes you can use manufacturer coupons sometimes you can’t. I complained further that that was misleading when it wasn’t mentioned in the advertisement and I was told they would “pass my concerns along”.

However, I then contacted Walgreens customer support through their website and received a phone call less than 24 hours later saying that they were putting the Register Rewards in the mail, apologizing and saying they were going to tell their managers how to fix the problem on a store level in the future. So you may want to contact Walgreens corporate if you had an issue, they were very helpful.

    Hey Charlene,
I just wanted to let you and the readers know about a great deal I found at my Walgreens (Midlothian,VA) on Tues. They had 5lb. bags of Gold Medal flour for $.99! They are regularly $2.xx. They also had 4lb. bags of sugar for $.99. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t know if that’s everywhere or not, but it’s worth a try to stock up….even with no coupons. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for all you do!

In regards to the allergy medicine RR, I read somewhere that the people at Catalina Marketing are saying that the barcode on the $5/2 coupon is the same as the barcode on the RR that prints out. So, the machine won’t print the RR if you use the $5/2 but should if you have any other coupons for this deal. Like a lot of other people, I’m just returning my products.

Forgot an important note on my previous comment regarding the allergy meds. As of Wednesday, the people at Catalina are not issuing RR via snail mail like they normally do because of the weird barcode issue.

I loved the Aveeno deal this week. I scored after I bought the tampons and pads with coupons (free) and got 2.50 in RR back, then got the Aveeno small sizes, used $1 off, then $2.50 off, got free travel kit. Then went back later to do again using the #$2 off from the bag and another $2.50 RR, but they were running out, so I spent a total of $5.59 on the next purchase. STill a great deal.
    Thanks for sharing.
