GROUPON

I told you guys about Living Social last week– a site where you just enter your email and they send you deals each day that are specific to your city.  The deals are usually services such as hair salons, car washes, dry cleaners- those everyday things you might spend money on.

So several of you recommended that I check out Group On as well and I finally registered myself!  I heard about Groupon awhile ago when I saw a crazy good deal in Portland on See Kai Run shoes that was all over Twitter.  Well for those that haven’t looked into it- they are a  group buying site.  So you register and each day they have a deal that is specific to your area for a variety of things.

The prices are usually fantastic and you just click if you want the deal.  If they get enough people to buy than you get the deal!

If enough people don’t sign up than you just don’t get the deal.  This site is becoming really popular so I would think that doesn’t happen that frequently.

Now the deal in my city today is a $100 gift certificate for a hair salon priced at $49.  The deal I saw awhile ago in Portland was for See Kai Run shoes at $15 (!!) so you just never know what will pop up.

You can enter your email HERE and they will send you the daily deals in your city.

For those of you that already registered can you tell us about some of the great deals you have found?

PS: You also get a $10 credit for referring your friends to Group On! (Thanks NJ)

We like to buy the restaurant deals because its usually only $10 or $15 for $25-30 worth of food. It’s a great deal plus you get to try out new restaurants which I love to do! Plus they usually don’t have crazy restrictions like the certificates on restaurants.com.
I also bought a groupon a couple weeks ago to Aveda for $25 and I was able to get a haircut and facial for that amount! Great deal if you ask me!
I love to be surprised every day when the deal changes.
Another good tip is if you know you are going on vacation to a certain city that has groupons check daily to see the new deals. We are going to Vegas at the end of May and we have bought a couple great deals that will save us at least $200.

Best website I have ever signed up for! I have bought everything from a $300 limo brewery tour for $80 for valentines day and a $140 salon & spa credit for $60 to $20 restaurant vouchers for $7 and $600 in personal training boot camp sessions for $40. I have purchased several as gifts since they always have restaurants & spa specials. I have also signed up to see the deals for other cities like Las Vegas in case we decide to plan a weekend trip, that way we can get some good eats or spa treatments while we are there too!

I have bought 5 classes of yoga for $25, a two coat room painting (including paint) for $69, $15 for $30 worth of organic produce delivery from two different companies. I totally love Groupon!! What else is awesome, is that last time they had one of the produce delivery deals (last week) I posted it on FB and on my blog, and 3 people used my link to click through and buy, so I got $10 credit from each of those. So I really only paid $39 for the room-painting one b/c I had $30 in referral credits!
