Shopping Trip $15

01/23/2010

002

Now you can see where I was all afternoon!  I took advantage of a babysitter today to get a ton of errands done!  (My husband works on Saturday).  So my total for all this was $14.73 and I went to Target, Safeway and Winco.

For the breakdown click below.

SAFEWAY:

I did 2 transactions to roll the fruit snacks catalina.

T1:
4 Fruit Snacks at $1 each- used (2) .50/2 coupons
Hormel Bacon on clearance .99 (I always buy bacon that still looks good on clearance since it goes straight to the freezer anyway.)
Deli Fresh lunchmeat .99- also on clearance- expires next week
Bell Pepper .50
2 packages salad mix .99 each
strawberries 1.99
Total was 7.42- I used (2) catalinas for 2.50 each from last time and paid $2.42 on a free gift card

T2:
4 Fruit Snacks $1 each- used (2) .40/1 and a .50/2
5 Kraft Cream Cheese at $1.99 each- used (5) .75/1 from the Safeway coupon book
2 Sargento Cheese 1.49 each w/ in ad coupon
Artisan Bread 1.99
2 Tyson Entrees $6.66- used (2) free coupons (I don’t recall where I got these- it was awhile ago because they were about to expire)
Used the $2.50 catalina from the fruit snacks above and the total was $9.77- I used the last of my gift card and paid $2.19 and I have a $5 catalina from Kraft and another $2.50 catalina from the fruit snacks!

WINCO: $11.44
Cheddar Cheese $4.44 for 2 lbs (note: this was Real CA cheese so I might go back with coupons! This is a really great price for me! If you want to look for this deal make sure to use your insert coupons for the cheese not the printables. I am 99% sure the printables won’t scan so they will probably refuse them.)
Yo Plus x 4 $1.38- used (4) $1 coupons HERE and HERE
DiGiorno Pizza $4.48- used $4/1 coupon I got HERE
Grapes $3.13
10lb Potatoes $1.87

Target: $1.10
2 boxes Electrasol $3.05- used (2) $2.50 coupons
GE Light Bulb $1.98- used $2/1 Target coupon from 1/10 SS

So the grand total is $14.73 and I still have $7 in catalinas for Safeway!

Geesh and I thought I did good! LOL, but no I didn’t!! I totally stink at this, haha!

I was at kroger tonight and got the full size air wick automatics and the mini ones for .49 each with the coupons you told us about the other day. They have the holiday ones marked down to 4.49! They also have the big sized glade fragrance collection holiday ones marked down to $3.00 each.

You go, girl!!! I need to remember to check clearance at more stores. I scored at RiteAid last night. Their Mighty Dog 2pk canned foods were on clearance for .29! Yep, I cleared the shelf. Safeway usually has great clearance too. You’re an inspiration!

Well this was the best week in awhile. Usually my trips stink because our prices are so high here. Just wait until next week and you won’t be impressed with me anymore ;)

somehow the coupons the give are not ones I use consistently. :( but I’ve learned to STOCK up when they are on sale…..WHEW! Knob Hill in Ca is great for that…

Charlene – What is the Catalina 1800 #? I went to my Randalls (safeway) today and got 3 boxes of BC Fruit Snacks but the cashier said his machine wasn’t working so the Cat didn’t print for $1.50. I talked to mgr who was checking ppl out on the next lane but he was too busy to do anything about it and even didn’t understand what I was talking about and was actually kinda rude. He took my name and # and supposedly will call me back. But I’d like to call Catalina myself if you can give me the number. Thanks!

is there a particular section where safeway keeps their clearance items?

It varies from store to store. You just have to look all around until you find them! For dry goods it might be a free standing unit toward the back of the store and occasionally I see freezer end caps with frozen goods. Otherwise meat clearance areas are typically well marked within that department.
