I ran around quite a bit today doing errands and I seem to have hit every store on my route!  I do not have double coupons and I don’t have any of the great grocery stores like Publix or Kroger so I usually have to cherry pick from several stores to get decent deals every week.  My grand total was $58.87 and I should get $9.98 back in rebates.

NUGGET: 9.36 (2lbs of potatoes and 6 Challenge Butter- used .55 coupons for each.  This is the very cheapest butter gets for me so I usually stock up and put it in the freezer.)

COSTCO: 37.91 (Hamburger Buns, dog food, 2 loaves of bread, 2 bricks of cheddar)

SAFEWAY:9.38 (muffins, waffles, hummus, 4 boxes cereal, 5 boxes crackers, spinach, freshpet dog food, sour cream)

AVEDA/HALLMARK: .41 (I got thank you notes for .41 at Hallmark after the $5 coupon.  I also got a free body wash at Aveda with coupon- no longer available.)

AMAZON:  12 Earth’s Best Baby Food free with Swagbucks- read more about this program HERE.

RITE AID:  I got a $10 gift card for some rebate. (Bought 4 Quench lotion @ $4.99 each.  Used (2) $3 coupons and (2) Buy One Get one coupons from Oct magazines I subscribe to.  Also got a Scrubbie for .99.  I still have a few dollars on the card and I should get (2) $4.99 rebates back for the Olay!)

Whew!  So I try to spend $50 per week and I went a little over this week stocking up on dog food and stuff.  I haven’t shopped at all really the last few weeks though so I had a lot of room in the budget this month.  We aren’t hosting Christmas this year so I didn’t have to worry about that and I am also anticipating a lot of leftovers!

If you buy more Nabisco crackers you can also submit for the rebate on those & you will receive $1 back for each of the boxes you bought today, helping bring your total closer to your $50 goal. :] Great job though!

Wow! I am so jealous that you are able to only spend 50 dollars a week on groceries! I really need to buckle down and really budget myself. I think that’s going to be my new years resolution!! Only allow a certain amount for groceries a week and stick to it!

Great shopping trip. One question though, where did you find the baby food on the swagbucks site? I can’t find it.

No I cashed in my Swagbucks and bought baby food from Amazon. It was $6.38 for 12 jars.

Lindsay I am going to work on some more tips over the holidays to help people get back on track in Jan. We do try to stick to $50- I spent $20 earlier in the week so I was closer to $80 this week. But we have been gone and I was out of a lot of items. We also stopped at a farm stand in So CA and spent about $8 on some produce. So I spent closer to 2 weeks of grocery money this week.

Yes I know. I might go back if I can get a few more coupons.

I love the Nugget Market, but I spend way to much money when I go there. I’m glad it istn’t to close. I was happy to buy everything I needed at Safeway yesterday, with everything being on sale except for 2 items. I was mad though, b/c I cannot getthe coupons to print on Safeway.com!!! I would have saved a lot more money if I had those coupons!
I am wondering how many people are you feeding in your family for $50? Do you eat much meat, and fruits and veggies?

    Hi Heather,

We havw a dog, a toddler and an infant- so 2 1/2 I guess! I do not eat meat and my toddler can take it or leave it so that for sure cuts back on costs. Also, we do eat produce I just don’t waste anything. So we bought a 5lb box of clementines and we have been eating them for snacks all week. I didn’t need to buy a lot of fruit this week because 5lbs is a lot for me and my little girl for snacks. We have fruit with breakfast and usually as a snack, then at least one veg with dinner depending on what I make.
