Additional Tips for this week’s shopping:
- Be careful to seperate the Bayer Meter RR and the Bayer tablets RR for rolling scenarios. Since they are from the same manufacturer, you will NOT get another RR.
- Don’t forget you will pay tax for all the “free” items- my tax is 8.25% which adds up quickly.
- You will need fillers if you plan to use a coupon and a register reward on the same item. The .39 Hallmark wrapping paper is an excellent filler this week or I like the 2pks of batteries for .99 in the photo department
- Your subtotal (before tax) needs to be the same or greater than the Register Reward you are trying to use. If you are .01 off the register will not accept the coupon.

the IP huggies diaper Q’s exclude the jumbo pack diapers, so that Q won’t work. also, might be helpful to use the $3.00/2 that was sent as in-home mailers, then one less Q but same savings (since at Wag’s one less Q means able to use 1 more RR to pay!)

Oh, and there is an IP out there for the huggies pull-ups that’s $2/1 (jumbo pk or larger) that would help the potty-training moms out there.
Charlene says
Thanks for the great comments! The Huggies I printed did not exclude Jumbo packs. Strange. I usually try to post coupons that are readily available to everyone but you are correct that $3/2 is perfect for Walgreens!

Do you know their in-ad Qs count as a "coupon" toward the "total # of Q's & RR" you can use in one transaction?
Charlene says
Hi Anon- I sort of figured that out today. It used to not be the case! I gave up a long time ago on trying to figure the system out ๐

if I wanted to buy 4 cans of campbells with the instore coupons, then use the campbells $1.00 off 2, then pay for it with a $2 RR, could I do it?
Charlene says
Catlin… let me think about this
.59×4= 2.36 – $1.00= $1.36
If you have (2) coupons your total is only .36 for all four cans.
You can buy the 4 cans with your register reward and save the coupon for another deal. Otherwise you have to have a total before tax of $2.00 or higher to use the reward.
Also, Walgreens only has tomato and chicken noodle on sale.

I went in a bought the 4 cans of soup, a luminar candle starter kit, a right guard deodarant and a box of crackers for less than $2.00 dollars today! I love couponing!
Charlene says
Kcatlin, Great job! Next week Right Guard is $2.99 with a $2 register reward. If you have the coupon booklet from Kmart there is a .75/1 coupon so it will be .24 after q ๐ Once you get the hang of it, couponing is extremely addicting!

hi, thanks for all this info, but im just starting with this coupons things and its my first time shoping at walgreens. so after reading your blog i got my coupons, but i dont know what happen at the register i bought the shick rasor for woman with the $4/1 and i got two mailing envelopes 1 each so my total was 7.91 why? i got the 3.00 rr but i need HELP!!!
Charlene says
The total of $1.99 is AFTER Register Reward. So the price of the razor was $8.99, you used a $4 coupon to bring the total down to $4.99- which is what you paid. Then you got a $3 register reward for your next purchase, so your net total was $1.99. What you could have done was just bought the razor for $4.99, then used the $3 register reward to pay for your envelopes and something else you might have needed (to get the total over $3) or purchased another register reward item like the Ecotrin for $2-
So the math looks like this:
Razor $4.99- get $3 Register Reward
2nd transaction
(2) Envelopes $2
Ecotrin $2
Use $3 Register Reward, Pay $1, Get another $2 Register reward
So you would have paid $5.99 and had $2 for your next purchase.
I hope that makes sense. It just takes a little practice and you will be getting great deals in no time. Remember when you are still learning you can return the items if the transaction didn’t go as planned. You can return that razor and the store will refund you the entire $8.99 price. (You will want to give back the $3 Register Reward too).
