Bargain Meal of the Week

03/31/2009

Share

Well since there is a whole lotta nothing at Safeway this week- I wanted to suggest this yummy fritatta from Ina Garten.

Eggs: $1.99- 18pk

Potatoes: .69/lb

Some markets got Super q’s for $4.49 Tillamok cheese!

Eggs (5) .55

Potatoes 1lb= .69

Cheese 4oz x .14= .56

$1.80 not including the butter and milk. I make this with or without bacon- using whatever I have on hand. You can also substitute ham and any veggies you have. If you are interested in learning more about how I save a fortune on bacon and lunch meat check out my article here.

You can also add salsa and sour cream.

Happy Works for Me Wednesday!

03/31/2009

Share

Typically I post a tip on Wednesday that works for me.. in honor of April Fool’s I’d love to hear from you for Backwards WFMW!

I would love some ideas for items I can cook/bake that will hold up well in the freezer for post baby. I would love muffins, breads, chicken dishes etc…

Also, I have 5 house guests next week (including 3 children). Any ideas for muffins/breads I can bake ahead as snacks for them? I have tons of bananas and apples on hand in particular.

Thank you for sharing your ideas below!

You might want to print this $2/1 Post Trail Mix Crunch coupon as there will be a great catalina offer starting at Safeway. make sure you are connected to the computer as this will go straight to print. Also these SS coupons can take a minute to load and can be printed several times. Just hit your back bar and it will reload the coupon. I was able to print 3 coupons.

Pep Boys: GREAT Deal on oil…

03/31/2009

Share

The deals keep coming- including this great one from Tara:

“April 5th through April 18th you can get 5 quarts of Peak Oil and a Purlator ProLine Oil Filter for $9.99 at Pep Boys Auto. Pep Boys is also offering a $9.99 rebate on the deal making it FREE. Plus, you can submit for two rebates per customer getting you a total of 10 quarts of oil and two oil filters! No substitutions, limit 2 rebates per customer.
For complete details click on in-store specials, input your zip code to find your closest store, and the offer is on the front page of the ad.”

My husband has been wanting to learn how to do our own oil changes. Maybe this will be a little extra incentive!
PS: Our ad does not have this deal listed on the front page- it is listed under in store specials though.

Got books?

03/31/2009

Share

I hate clutter. I mean I really hate clutter. If you are like me and have books lying around you might want to check out Cash4books.net. Just type in the ISBN number from your book and they will tell you what they are willing to pay for the books. They will also cover shipping costs and you can print a mailing label right from your computer. I put 7 books in and they were only buying 2 of them. I was offered $2.18 so I will just put these in the donatation box but you might be luckier!
I have heard great things about Paperbackswap as well to trade books but personally I prefer to just go to the library.

Kohl’s- $5 off any purchase

03/31/2009

Share

If you haven’t signed up for Kohl’s email alerts, you are missing out on a great coupon! Sign up here and within 10 days you will receive an email for $5 any purchase of $5 or more. I have signed my husband up in the past and I was able to get an item on clearance for $5.95 and use the coupon. I just signed myself up to take advantage of the great Easter sales.

Kohl’s can have incredible clearance deals- I have found shirts for $1, hoodies for $4, and panties for .36.

If you aren’t in need of any clothing they will likely have great clearance deals on Easter home decor as well. These are great ways to start working on Christmas shopping as well!
