Chai Spice Sugar Cookie Recipe

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3 tablespoon Chai concentrate

  • 3 cups confectioners sugar
  • ⅓ cup softened butter
  • 3-6 tablespoons Chai Concentrate (depending on your preference, I like more Chai in mine)
  1. Mix powdered sugar and butter in a mixer until creamy.
  2. Add egg and mix to incorporate.
  3. Add Chai concentrate and mix well.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix to incorporate.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  6. Heat oven to 375ºF. Lightly grease cookie sheet.
  7. You can roll the cookies out on a surface sprinkled with powdered sugar and cut them into shapes or simply roll into small balls and then flatten slightly with your fingers.
  8. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown.
  10. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.
  12. Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir well until creamy. Frost cookies once cooled.
