I will admit to having no real clue as to what Minecraft is. I was just on a pumpkin patch trip with a little guy that was Minecraft obsessed and I asked him to explain it to me and after 5 seconds my mind wandered away and I missed his entire (very, very long) speech.
So there you have reason #2 I am decidedly uncool (reason #1 was of course calling a little girl Miss Piggy when she was clearly Clawdine from Monsters High for Halloween.)
Anyhoo- there is some sort of Minecraft book available for $3.43.
This is a preorder and I think it is supposed to be released 11/23.
Head over here to grab it– I don’t see much as far as descriptions or notes.
Your description cracked me up. That is just about what I know about Minecraft too, even though both of my younger ones play it and talk about it all the time.
LOL My mind tends to wander every time I talk to my chatty 7yo nephew. Re: Miss Piggy, it’s okay. I pointed out “Thomas the Train” to my DDs when it was clearly “Percy.” No worries. The Mom only barked, “He’s Percy!” 🙁 oops.
Lol. My 14 y.o. started playing Minecraft 2 years ago before it became a commercial hit. Now my 11 y.o. twin boys play. You can play on computer, Xbox or mobile devices like iPod. This game has become even more popular in the last year among 8-12 y.o. boys (and girls). It’s basically a multi-player online indie survival game where you build things and worlds with cubes. There’s a character named Steve and then you have bad guys called Creepers. The graphics are pretty archaic and pixel looking but tweens love this game!
Fret not, Charlene; we still think you’re cool!
If it makes you feel any better, I know next-to-zilch about Minecraft, too, but my nephews still love me. Or at least they say they do. 🙂
(Oh, and I’d rather see Miss Piggy than someone from Monsters High any day!)
