I wanted to mention a few of the Elf on the Shelf deals. Since the Black Friday ads are out I noticed the best price will be Target for $29.99 with a $5 gift card back. Amazon has comparable prices so might as well order it now and get a bigger selection. These absolutely sell out every year as we get closer to the holiday so it’s best to grab these early.
The Elf on the Shelf Girl Edition is $29.95 right now. That is for the blue eyed girl Elf and girl-character themed storybook.
For $32 you can get the same pack listed above with the girl elf and she is wearing a skirt. The skirts usually sell separately for $5 so that is a good deal.
If you are looking for the blue eyed boy version, that is $32.95 and comes with an extra book. You get the official Elf On the Shelf Activity Book that is packed with crafts, activities and coloring pages.
The boy elf with bonus “Elf Story” DVD is $39. That’s a pretty good price considering you also get a movie.
And if your kids like to do crafts, the blue eyed boy elf comes with a bonus Make-an-Elf craft kit for $29.95.
You might also be interested in the Popkins for a less expensive alternative starting around $21. These little book sets come with either the Christopher or Christina version and are really cute!
All of these ship free with Prime or $25 orders. I would go ahead and order while the selection is best. These make really fun traditions to start with the kids.
Head over here to look at all the options.

What is the big craze Charlene? I have never heard of it and I am curious. Thanks.

Elaine,
I didn’t know about it either until last year. This thing is super popular- the idea is that little elf watches the children and reports back to Santa if they behave. Each night you are supposed to put the elf in a new location for the children to find in the morning so they know he has been up during the night and watching everything they do. People get REALLY into Elf on the Shelf. You can see on pinterest zillions of funny places they put the Elf- like putting him head first into a bag of chocolate chips on the counter or hanging him from ceiling fans. My girls thought he was scary last year but this year I am hoping they like him better. I think the bottom line is having something that watches how they act to encourage them to make good choices and also it creates fun Christmas memories for the kiddos. 🙂
