Reader Endcapps was in her store this morning and they were putting up signs indicating that the gift cards are no longer part of the promotion.
I don’t know if that will apply to every store or just her store but if you were planning to try this deal, you might call ask and ask so you don’t waste a trip.

Kara, the coupon I was talking about pictures a toothbrush and says “Colgate Optic White Toothbrush.”
I went and got a gift card, couldn’t find a vanilla visa for $100, so I got one with a variable amount and made a $100…but no resolution rewards, they thought it was because of the variable card, so I bought ANOTHER one and used the first one for the purchase…it STILL didn’t go through…they called the Riteaid cust service and told them what happened (and I’m a bit annoyed because I paid double the acitvation fees when I purchased two card), end result: they said there was a glitch in the system and they would mail me a check for $30 , $20 for the rewards and an additonal $10 cause of the fee’s and inconvienence.
Here’s another thing, none of my UPR showed up for the purchase, I’m told that as of this month, UPR will be in your account and will be automatically applied to your balance…I’m emailing them anyway just in case…I had a lot of UPR this week.

i got stuck w/g/card without the $20 up:( the cashier and manager told me there was a sign posted. unfortunately, i grabbed my g/card in a location where there was no sign:(( i’m in bay shore long island.
Be sure to call 1-800 RITE AID and they should honor your purchase and send you the UP rewards. That’s what happened to me yesterday.
the lady just accepted the $3 coupon so I paid $0.78 which is still good. 🙂
No gift cards in my store, San Jose. Signs all over the place stating it was a mistake.
