If you have any college kids that might use the Kindle for textbook purchases, they can get a free $10 credit right now. I believe you can also get the textbooks on your PC or Mac when you just download the Kindle app.
I remember how expensive textbooks were when I was in school so it is nice to see a little discount.
To get this deal just head over here.
Enter coupon code: ETXTBOOK and click apply.
The $10 credit should be saved in your account and waiting for your next purchase.
There is a limit of one per person and the credit will expire January 9th.
And if you are in college or have a child in college, they can get 6 months of free Amazon Prime. You will need an edu email address and I believe you can link the service to other family members accounts- so they can enjoy your 6 free months as well!

I’ve been in and out of college for 13 years now. It’s ridiculous how much the cost has risen over the years for textbooks.
I ordered my books a few weeks ago, giving the e-book/Kindle a try this quarter. On 1/2 my books, it saved me a great deal of money, and the benefit of not having to lug around so many books!
Mac: The free Kindle reader download from Amazon will make the book available on the computer. It is limited in what it can do: bookmark pages. The free download from the Apple App store has more features: highlighting and annotating are available.
Sorry, I haven’t installed it on the PC in the house yet, so I’m not sure about limitations.

I’m not in school, but found a book on investing for less than $10.
