When I printed the Carnation coupon for evaporated milk it specified 12 oz. size yet the description above states the price is for 5 oz. size. Is that correct?
karen says
there is no sweet tea in any of the target stores near by, its not even carried in that size anywhere. very sad. 🙁
Nicole says
The Olay mobile coupon seems to have disappeared as of today.
Christine says
At my local Target (NJ), the Ortega taco seasoning was on .58! Such a steal with the coupon.
Charlene says
Nicole it expired yesterday. Did you get the message from Target reminding you that the coupons would expire?
Nicole says
Charlene, I did not 🙁 I “used” it once and wanted to try again. The coupon did not scan and they could not get the numbers to go through either so the manager did an over ride and just gave me $3 off! So I was just going to try it again at a different store. Oh well! Used it once 🙂
I didn’t even know about the mobile coupons before I read your shop for free post last week! I’m a new reader. Thank you for all you do!
Charlene says
Nicole- they send a reminder about 2 days before that tells you the coupons will expire. The mobile coupons can only be used once though per coupon so you wouldn’t have been able to use it again. Well.. you probably could have because the coupon didn’t scan but it would be cheating. Don’t worry- we see free facial care products all the time- another deal will come along soon. Just remember each mobile coupon can only be used once though. The ones you can print from Target.com typically have a limit of 2.

I have enjoyed shopping at Target for over 3 years now and have never had a problem using coupons until this Friday. I always carry a current copy of the Target Coupon Policy with me and have never had to use it.
I had the Cover Girl $8/2 face products…the coupon was in date and did not have any wording on the coupon forbidding the coupon from being reduce to the price of the items. I got two blushers that reducing the coupon would have made the items free. Both the store and the manufacturer know that will happen when they put out a coupon like that because the goal is to get you to try the brand. I got to the check out counter and the cashier told me he could not do that because the store would not make any money on a deal like that so I ask him if he would check with someone else. He did, he called a person form the customer service dept. who should know company coupon policy. She also said they could not do that because the store would not make any money on that sale. I tried to show her the Target Coupon policy and she would not even look at it. She ask me where I got it and told her off the Corporation’s web site. She continued to say I was wrong. I also tried to buy two Whisker Lickin’s cat treats because I had 2 Target coupons from their site and was told that I could only buy one item per trip that I could not buy two items per trip and use both coupons. This is not in the on-line coupon policy I was carrying. The cashier also told me looking at the expiration date on the coupon (by the way the date was 11/11/11 and I had printed it last week!) that the coupon was probably printed months before because it would take off too much money and that the store would not make enough off of this item. At that point I told him that I had no control over the expiration date on the coupon or when it is offered that the company decided all of that before they ever offer it to be printed or decided on the date of sales. I decided to call it wasted trip at that point and told him to take back all my products I was going to purchase and to give me back all my coupons and that I was going to call the corporate rep to talk about this situation. Well I did call this morning and the rep said she was sorry and that they were wrong not to reduce the coupon on the Cover Girl items. But, she also said that even though it is not in the Target Coupon policy on-line that you are not allowed to buy more than one of the same item if you are going to use a Target coupon on the item. One Target Coupon for example on the cat treats. You cannot buy 2 and use two in date coupons from Target. How confusing is that when it is not in the current policy as of the 15th of this month I checked. She also said for me to keep the 1-800# with me and to call them from the check out counter if I had any further problems. Wow…I really do not know if it is worth going back if shopping at Target is going to be this trouble.

Melanie,
When a store receives a coupon from a customer rather than actual money, they turn those coupons into the manufacturer who then pays the store the amount of the coupon as well as a small handling fee (usually around .08). When a cashier tells me (and oh have they ever) that they can’t accept a coupon because the store will not make money off the sale, I always politely explain to them exactly how coupons work and how they will, in fact, make their money off the items I’m purchasing with coupons. If I’ve ever had a problem, I simply call the store manager over. Rather than complain and yell, I always ask that the manager explain their store’s coupon policy as it pertains to whatever issue I’m having before the cashier ever has a chance to tell their “side” of the story. This will always ensure the store manager is giving you accurate information. As long as you are abiding by the policy and the manager knows that policy (as they should), you will almost always get your way. It’s so frustrating to shop somewhere when we know the policies better than the employees, and I hope you will give Target another chance!

I have not been back to target since dec 31st of last yr. I was in there 3 xs a week. They went from the best store to coupon at to the worst. I tried customer service (1800) that was worthless, on 2 different occasions. The last time the manager told the cashier, as if I was not there…that because my coupons were printed in black and white they were copies. She would not even look at me I was shaking. I told her she can refuse my coupons but she will not call me a thief. Most of us who have been doing this for awhile, and most newbies take fraud very seriously. I will never go back. I won’t lie I do miss it.
