Here is another vlog on coupon organization. I actually have two videos for you. This first one is geared more toward people that want to spend the least amount of time possible organizing coupons.
This is actually the method that I use to organize coupons and you will be able to see how to organize your inserts, organize your cut/printed coupons and get ready for grocery shopping.
This method is perfect for those that are very limited in time and that typically stick to a shopping list and know what they want ahead of time.
This is the easiest and fastest method you will find and hopefully you can take some of the tips from the video and figure out the best method for you.
The second vlog (coming tomorrow) will be how to organize a coupon binder and that method is really better suited to those that want to carry a lot of coupons around with them and for those that love hunting around on clearance aisles. It can also be the best method for those that shop grocery stores like Walmart and Winco that don’t do a big weekly ad letting you plan out in advance what you want to buy or those that only go to the store every so often.
You will trade off a little more of a time investment in organizing coupons for the ability to carry more around with you and to be prepared for those unadvertised deals.
Hopefully this video helps to explain how the entire process works! If you have trouble viewing this video, you can find my You Tube Channel here.
You can also find more articles on How to Get Started Extreme Couponing here.
PS: When I say toss or purge coupons, you don’t actually need to put them in the garbage. You can donate your expired coupons to the military!

Great video, Charlene! Intuitively I was doing the transfer-to-the-wallet maneuver with my coupons, so it’s great to get confirmation there. This makes me feel *normal.*

Thanks for the pointers. I am always looking for a way to keep my coupons under control, but not spending a ton of time.

Thank you so much for this video. I feel like a crazy woman at the store because I take all my coupons with me so as not to miss a deal. Can’t wait for your next video. Question: Is there a happy medium to not spending so much time and yet not missing so many deals??
Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thats why I like your blog. Ur reasonable & do not promote hoarding. I pretty much do what you do > i would rather miss a good deal then spend 2 hrs sorting coupons.

Loved this! And I’m glad to know you are sane and don’t get all upset if you don’t get every single deal. I think when you are a newbie couponer, you can get so hung up on missing a deal.

My file tub is split like this into shared hanging file folders (below) When a new month comes along I pull out the old month and that’s when I sort this tub (look for expired or not). So I never have more than 4 mo at a time!
1) All you Mags (I keep the 4 latest copies)
2) PG & GM (keep 1 mo of PG)
3) SS Jan/May/Sept
4) SS Feb/Jun/Oct
I use the small expando file to sort my “cut coupons” for each store. I keep a copy of each stores’ policy folded up in their section. I use another expando for loose coupons. No binders here. HUGE time saver! Fully stocked stockpile!
5) SS March/July/Nov
6) SS Apr/Aug/Dec
7) RP Jan/May/Sept
8) RP Feb/Jun/Oct
9) Mar/Jul/Nov
10) Apr/Aug/Dec

Kim, is your system pretty similar to mine then? You take the file around with you and cut the coupons before you go to the store?
