You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

The $1/1 Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie coupon link is not working. Is there really such a coupon? If so, cheap cookie dough sounds like a great thing!
Charlene says
Amy it should work now. This is the link:

We got a $1/1 in our Sac Bee for the Welch’s juice last week. $0.99 is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it. It is not a problem you have to buy 3 for the price of one when you have the Q’s!
Charlene says
Serafina, I saw there was a $1 coupon for juice but I haven’t had time to check the coupon. The ad shows an “essentials blend” which seems like it might be different.
Holly says
There is a $2 off 2 coupon for Mott’s in the MDA coupon book. Buy 6 use three coupons for $.99 each.
Serafina says
Oh, I guess I don’t have the ad in front of me. The match-up just says “juice.” The $1/1 Q is precisely for “100% juice or 100% juice blend.” If it is the “essentials” only, then it probably won’t work.
Charlene says
Ok Serafina, I will change that to read Welch’s Blends I guess. You can still check in store to see if the juice is part of the promotion but it is not in the ad.
Alicia says
Can you continue to identify coupons that are regional. I am in N CA and I am not able to find the coupon in smart source for $ 1.00 off eggs or the Marie dressing coupon.
Thank you!
Charlene says
Alicia,
Do you have any suggestions as to how I could do that? I use a nationwide coupon database to find coupons and I can’t think of anyway to tell people exactly what they will find in their newspaper. I suppose I could take an extra 2 hours or so a day to go through each of my inserts specifically but really that would only help the people that have the exact same paper as I do. In Northern California there are hundreds of newspapers so someone that lives 15 minutes from me might get a different paper and a different insert.
I get asked this frequently and I don’t have the foggiest idea how I could possibly list out exactly which coupon each person will have according to the newspaper they subscribe to. If you have suggestions let me know.

The Nabisco Handi-Snacks are buy 10 get 2 free. So I scored 12 boxes for $4.90. I was confused at first as it said Kraft but the box also says Nabisco. Thank you for that great deal, I am buying more coupons to stock up on 🙂
Thanks

i went to safeway today. The Vans waffles are still $2.50 each. This morning i was able to print 2 coupons at mambosprouts.com for $1 off 2 boxes. you did this deal over the weekend , but i did not see the coupons available then. I think the vans waffles coupons must have refreshed since sunday. i also bought 2 eggo mini muffins at $4/2. Used safeway and manufacturer’s coupons. and bought 2 dreyers shakes $1 each and used newspaper coupon $1 off 2. And also used $5 off $15 frozen food purchase.
Charlene says
YUP I saw!!! I swear Cathy I had not had one second to think about it but I was totally on the same wavelength as you 🙂
Alicia says
Hi Charlene- I don’t have suggestions. I thought I read you were local to me here in Roseville, CA. In which if I saw you posted a coupon that I too would find in my paper. However to yoru point someone 15 minutes away from you can get different inserts must be the case with me in why I can’t find them sometimes. Thanks for the response, I will keep checking the coupon inserts to your posts, hoping I get the great deals. Thank for all you do.
Charlene says
No Alicia it doesn’t work like that. Like I could never, ever find coupons by thumbing through my inserts. Imagine how crazy that would be on a matchup like Safeway where there might be 50 coupons. I’d have to go through 6 months of coupons by hand for each item. In order to find a coupon to pair with a sale, the coupon needs to be in some sort of database and that is what I use. There are a handful of databases available to rent each month and I use one from Ohio. I could pay someone to build a database for me to use by myself and then pay someone to maintain it, but that would literally cost probably more than some people spend on a car 😉 A friend of mine in Kansas keeps a spreadsheet with all the coupons in her specific city but I don’t really see the point. She does the matchups for a nationwide audience and uses the same database I use, so the readers in her city would still need to cross reference the spreadsheet she has for them. It gives me a headache to think about it.
So anyhoo, it is what it is and I have actually racked my brain trying to think of how to improve the system. I do have a fairly good memory and I try to adjust the coupon values and such according to what I remember that I got in my paper whenever I can. Also, I am in Roseville but believe it or not Sacramento is like my 10th largest city for readers. Dallas and the NW and Atlanta and Chicago people come here way more than Sacto people.

Would this deal work?? Buy 4 Open Nature or Safeway Select Frozen Pizzas (normal price about $3.99 each) one sale for $2.99 and use (4) either $1/1 Open Nature or $1/1Any safeway store brand product (found in the freezer coupon safeway booklet) along with the $5/15 any frozen items. If so that makes the pizza $.74 each and a total of $2.96/4
Charlene says
Jolene, I was thinking of getting those pizzas too. The only concern I have is that I can’t remember if the one in the book said $1 off $3 or not? Also just check the flyer coupons too because Safeway are stinkers about putting limit 1 on their coupons. For some reason I think there is a limit 1 on that coupon 🙁
Jolene Mittelstadt says
The coupon says “Minimum $3 purchase on Participation Item Required” Would that be like that $5/15 precoupon, sale price. I think the normal price $3.99 each. Also I looked up the ad online and there is not limitation, just a 4 day sale. I thinks it works a try for $.74 pizza, a great stock up for the winter months!!
Charlene says
No I meant the Open Nature one. OK I checked and the Open Nature one says limit 1 per customer so you would only be able to buy one at a time. For the $3 minimum, I read that to mean the item you want to buy needs to cost $3 or more to use the $1 coupon.
Raeme says
I wish we would of got the coupon book, they did not get them at my store 🙁
Tara says
Just got back from safeway and thought I would make an update on the Juice, the Motts for Tots is also included, and it seems that all the Welches are also included (100% juice, essentials, blends) Im bummed I didnt get the 1/1 Welches coupon in me paper, but I did print the 1/2 welches from coupons.com a while back, 1.50 each isn’t bad for 100% grape juice! and not to mention the 2/2 Motts from the MDA booklet! 🙂 We should be stocked on juice for atleast a month or 2!
Charlene says
Tara I have all that to post tomorrow! I found the same thing. Nice deal 😉
Heather says
Ugggh. I get the Sacramento Bee too – 4 subscriptions – and have no Welch’s coupons (not even the .55/1) and also didn’t get the 1/1 Tombstone. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for all the hard work you do!
Nicole P. says
Are the MDA booklets still out? I haven’t seen any in my recent trips.
cathy says
i picked up 1 on wednesday at my local safeway in san jose, CA

I also found this: http://www.tonytantillo.com/newsletters/safeway.html
There is a coupon for $2/1 bag of fresh express salad (among other coupons)- you could get you salad for .49 or for free if you bought 3 bags of salad (drops price to 1.49 a piece) and used 3 of the coupons!
Christina says
I know of other coupon blogs that have someone from each region compile excel insert list based on the region in exchange for some form of compensation. I don’t want to put another site on your blog so email me and I can forward you the details.
Charlene says
Is that Jenny you mean Christina? I guess I am confused as to the point of that. So I’d have like 100 people that were responsible for typing up every coupon in their specific newspaper and adding it to a spreadsheet? And then I’d have to pay them to do that? And then a person could cross reference the spreadsheet when they wanted to check what coupon they got? I don’t really see how that saves time from just opening your insert and looking. Do you find it very helpful?
zoheb says
what’s a gm insert?
Charlene says
Zoheb it is the General Mills inserts occasionally in the papers.
