Just an update on the overlapping promotions at Safeway this week.
My ad featured a promotion for a $15 catalina when you spend $60 on iTunes gift cards from 12/1-12/7.
The $15 cat expires 14 days from when it prints.
My ad also featured a $15 cat when you spend $150 on gift cards. This excludes Safeway cards and it does say the catalina needs to be used within 7 days on a purchase of $50 or more.
So reader Hollie tested this by purchasing $60 in iTunes cards and $90 in other cards and she did get both catalinas.
I can’t promise this will work for you, but if you can use the iTunes card this is a pretty great deal. You can buy Target cards at Safeway or another store you might do holiday shopping at and basically get the iTunes card for half off.
Be sure to check your local ad to make sure these offers are available in your area.
Thanks Hollie!

HI Charlene,
Just wondering, for the $15 catalina from iTunes…is that $15 off a certain minimum? Like the $150 gift card promotion?
This is a great deal and perfect for stocking stuffers and kids’ bday gifts!!
Thank you!

Emelyn, the ad does not list any other exclusions so my understanding is that it is $15 off groceries. You won’t be able to stock up on smokes, booze and lotto tickets with it though. The $150 one says off $50 purchase but the iTunes one does not say that. Also, I don’t know if you can use both $15 ones at the same time. I would think so but Safeway is always full of surprises.

Awesome, thank you so much!! Off to Safeway I go tomorrow!!

My Safeway offers gift cards for Amazon and eBay. My business purchases off those all the time, so the cards get bought as a business expense and I use the residue coupons.

I did the iTunes cards and gift cards today and the gift card $15 off worked fine on my groceries but the iTunes $15 would not work. It would just say .01 grocery. The catalina states that it is $15 off a $15 purchase. I tried it on another purchase and it wouldn’t take it again. Finally had to go to the customer service window and have them give me $15 bucks.
