Update for PhotoWorks Freebie/Credit

Hi Everyone-

It looks like the codes for Photoworks are not unique and have been released.  This was for 20,000 people only so DO NOT WAIT to create your item!!  Many people are making multiples of these items so the 20,000 will be gone ASAP.  It looks like you can not request a new code but if you have a code you can still place your order.  Thanks to all the readers that commented letting us know when things are still available!

Check out the list HERE of other great photo deals you can still score!

I hate that ppl make multiples and have to be so greedy!

Hi Jessica, Apparently another blog picked this up and had readers ordering 10 or more apiece so they surely hit 20,000 way before they expected. Sorry you missed it. It was supposed to be get the code and you have 5 days to make it but it seems they codes were released so people were able to make as many as they wanted.

I made mine LATE last night, and I thought about trying making another one, but I decided against it. I thought I’d be grateful for the one I was able to make. Why do people do things like that??? I get so frustrated about people taking as much as they possibly can when there’s a limited number.

That would mean that they would have to create 10 different accounts and upload it to each because the site won’t let you do multiple codes… that’s just wrong. People get “free greedy”!

I ordered my ONE calendar.. thanks Charlene for the help!

I agree – they should be generous and allow others to get one also! I also got ONE free calendar – did mine at 1am – so glad I got it when I did. Sorry to those that missed out –

i was able to get the code late last night. has it been verified that the code has reached its limit already? or might i still be able to get my gift?

I am pretty certain they won’t honor it but you can certainly try. They also have a live chat you can also try to reach a rep. Honestly I hope people aren’t sending angry emails to American Greetings as this was a very generous offer and they were taken advantage of. If you move very quickly you might still be able to redeem your code since it just seems to have ended.

Just did my calendar and it worked…if you use Paypal they don’t ask for credit card info.

I placed my order just before 6 this morning. It showed as I only got free shipping, but I placed anyways hoping I could get a person to fix the bill. A customer service rep. told me I could only get a store credit, since I agreed to the total. I then asked to speak with a supervisor who told me once my card is actually billed, then I can email them to get a refund on my mastercard. A little more hassle, but still worth it for a good offer. Hope my phone bill isn’t outrageous for holding for such a long time today!

i got my code this morning and i was going to wait to make my item until we got our christmas pictures back since the code doesnt expire until 12/31 but it says it is no longer valid b/c 20,000 orders have already been made using the code–so even though i was one of the 20,000 i didnt get my free gift–what a shame i was so loooking forward to making it–i guess i learned my leason for next time!

You know Amy I totally hear you. This has happened to me so many times- honestly you just really need to jump regardless of what the time frame is. The word free makes people a little crazy and things tend to go a lot faster than anticipated 🙂 Especially really good freebies like this one.

I just made a calendar at 11:00 AM Central time December 2…the code worked for me! Thanks so much.

  23. Lacey says

    12/02/2009 at 2:33 PM

I was able to make mine at 1am on December 3rd! I got the code early before I went to work, and then made it late that night. Somehow it still worked, and I’m very thankful! My in-laws will enjoy getting it. I guess maybe not as many people ordered the calendar?? Because, I had no problems.

  24. Lacey says

    12/02/2009 at 2:34 PM

Oops, I mean I made mine at 1am on December 2nd, not the 3rd. 🙂

  25. laneysmom says

    12/04/2009 at 9:06 AM

Lacey – I think that is probably what happened…it must have been a 20,000 limit on each code so apparently more people ordered the book since it expired pretty quickly. I wish all of the people that were upset about missing out would try for the calendar…that way they would not be empty-handed! I never tried for the book – only the calendar and it worked on December 2. Wish the code for the free hardcover book was still working – I got mine yesterday and it is amazing ~ definitely worth the $32 they were charging for them at regular price!
