Walgreens Trip

013I went to Walgreens to check the Almay deal out.  This is a good deal since the mascara winds up free but I did not get a Register Reward.  So here is how it worked:

Almay One Coat $7.99
Almay One Coat $7.49
Kids Toothbrush $1.09 (on clearance)
Hunt’s 3/$1- used $1/3 printable
Caramels $1
I paid $2.83 total and I had $2.09 (from the caramels and toothbrushes) plus .75 tax

So the mascara is free- here is how it works-
One at 7.99
the 7.49 comes back off your receipt (since the makeup is Buy One Get One Free not Buy One Get One 50%)
Then I used the $4 off coupon from the November coupon book- it takes $4 off for each mascara. So you have .01 in overage.  And I posted the image of the coupon book HERE.

If you buy the Pure Blends Mascara you will get a $5RR, but you will not be able to use the $4 coupon.

Yes, you have to buy the Pure Blends to get the 5RR. I bought the Pure blends foundation for 9.99- got 10.00RR bought the Pure blends mascara @ 7.99 got 5.00 RR then they took off 7.99 because it was bogo free. I bought the Almay One Coat mascara as well and it was 6.99 each bogo and they took 8.00 off for the November coupon book. It was a great moneymaker!

A better deal on the Almay Make-up
Transaction 1: buy the eye shadow $7.49 (at my store), one ALmay one coat mascara (free). Used the $4 off coupon. paid $3.49 OOP and got $5 RR.

    Transaction 2:
Bought 1 foundation $9.99, one one coat mascara (still rang up free at 9:54pm monday in eugene, OR) used the $4 off coupon and the $5 RR from transaction 2. Paid $0.99 OOP and got a $10 RR.

My mom bought those toothbrushes for my niece…she loves them 🙂

I am amazed you bought them considering so many that couponers get for free!

Have you considered using the Arizona tea on sale for b1g1 as a filler? That way you get 2 products for $1 (aka: 2 extra useable RR’s)

I haven’t found kids toothbrushes free in awhile. Funny that $1.09 on 6 toothbrushes is extravagant to me now!

Hannah. I know this is confusing but they are SUPPOSED to be Buy 1 Get 1 50%. That is what every store has them marked at. There is a glitch in the system and they are actually ringing up at Buy One Get One free. Now Walgreens might catch this mistake and correct it but as of last night it worked for me. And my store did have them marked at Buy One Get One 50% off as well.

I just got the Almay mascara and it only took one $4.00 off coupon not two. I still got two mascara for $4.00 not bad.

I tried this deal at my WAGS today and although they rang up B1G1 FREE, the $4 coupon only got taken off once. It would have been cheaper to B1G1 50% off and then use 2 $4 coupons. Bummer!

Yes I did not get one free either and the $4 only came off once but I used RR so I going with no OOP.

I went this morning and it worked where I received both for free. Went during lunch and it didn’t work anymore. They must have fixed the glitch!
