Charlene, I just wanted to echo Kate's thanks. I just started reading your blog recently, but have loved it and all the great deals I've found b/c of it! I'm in NorCal as well (Bay Area), so it's been great to find someone who's referencing the same ads I'm getting.
I just took over the grocery shopping from my husband this month since I was frustrated by our usual approach of buying what we needed for that week, regardless of whether it was on sale, and NEVER sticking to our $500 monthly budget. That seemed ridiculous to me (it's me, the hubby and a toddler), so I've adopted the approach of shopping loss leaders, coupons, etc. So far, we're set to come in under budget for, probably, the first time ever. And we have more food in the pantry and freezer than we've ever had! My goal now is to further cut down how much we spend.

That's so true… if Safeway only knew how much business you provide them, they would put you on the payroll… we should work out a commission payment proposal for them 😉
