Can I tell you a secret? My husband and I don’t exchange gifts. That is shocking to a lot of people but it works for us. Years ago after spending $600 on each other for Christmas we decided to stop exchanging gifts and instead we decided to put aside money each month for a fabulous vacation. Things have changed since then and now our priority is becoming debt free.
If something comes along that we need, we save up and pay for it. So this is what I am getting for Mother’s Day this year!
Our printer finally died a few days ago and we found this Brother printer on Amazon for $89 after the instant manufacturer rebate. Can I tell you I am so excited to have a wireless printer! Whoo-ee! I am cashing in the last of my Swagbucks to offset a little of the cost.
So, am I the only one that actually likes practical gifts? What are your plans for Mother’s Day? I fully expect to sleep in and am going to take advantage of some of the great Mother’s Day freebies out there.

LOVE practical gifts. My gift this year is going to the nursery by my self for a couple hours, starbucks in hand, and choosing some flowers and the rest of the veggies for our garden, followed by some uninterupted time for planting, and a nice afternoon nap. I cant wait!!!! ๐
I too love the practical gifts. Some years it’s been a tree for the yard. Other years it’s been a new wildflower garden. This year, I don’t know what they’ve got planned. I asked them to cut a tree down that’s shading my pear tree, but we shall see. ๐
Oh good! I always feel like I am in the minority but honestly something to make my life easier is the best gift of all! Enjoy your Starbucks Kate- that is an indulgence for me too!
I love practical gifts to give and get. My husband loves fancy things. Maybe some day he’ll convert to my ways! ๐ I have that printer BTW, and I LOVE it! One of the best investments ever! You can also find cheap ink online at different sites! Thanks for your blog-it is so helpful you’re the best!
