Quick and easy homemade caramel apple ice cream.
Ingredients
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 21oz apple pie filling (or see substitution below for fresh apples)
  • 5 oz caramel ice cream topping (I used Smucker's Salted Caramel)
Instructions
  1. Whisk the heavy whipping cream in a stand mixer until fluffy and stiff peaks form on the whisk.
  2. Fold in sweetened condensed milk until just incorporated.
  3. Empty the apple pie mixture onto a large chopping board and chop the apples up into smaller chunks.
  4. Pour about ⅓ of the mixture into a loaf pan.
  5. Pour the caramel sauce in drizzles over the top.
  6. Add about ½ the apple pie mixture in an even layer on top of the caramel.
  7. Pour another ⅓ of the heavy cream mixture on top of that.
  8. Add the balance of the apple pie filling in an even layer on top.
  9. Add the remainder of the cream mixture and use a knife to gently run back and forth through the pan to swirl the ingredients.
  10. At this point you can drizzle a tiny bit more caramel or just wrap the loaf pan tightly with saran wrap and place in freezer.
  11. Freeze about 5 hours or until solid.
  12. Enjoy!
