Caramel Apple Ice Cream
Author: My Frugal Adventures
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 21oz apple pie filling (or see substitution below for fresh apples)
- 5 oz caramel ice cream topping (I used Smucker's Salted Caramel)
- Whisk the heavy whipping cream in a stand mixer until fluffy and stiff peaks form on the whisk.
- Fold in sweetened condensed milk until just incorporated.
- Empty the apple pie mixture onto a large chopping board and chop the apples up into smaller chunks.
- Pour about ⅓ of the mixture into a loaf pan.
- Pour the caramel sauce in drizzles over the top.
- Add about ½ the apple pie mixture in an even layer on top of the caramel.
- Pour another ⅓ of the heavy cream mixture on top of that.
- Add the balance of the apple pie filling in an even layer on top.
- Add the remainder of the cream mixture and use a knife to gently run back and forth through the pan to swirl the ingredients.
- At this point you can drizzle a tiny bit more caramel or just wrap the loaf pan tightly with saran wrap and place in freezer.
- Freeze about 5 hours or until solid.
- Enjoy!
