Quick and easy wafer cookies for Easter.
Ingredients
  • Orange Sugar Wafer Cookies (1 wafer makes 2 cookies)
  • Lime Flavored Tootsie Rolls (1 Tootsie Roll makes three carrot tops)
  • Orange Wilton Candy Melts
  • Oreo cookies for the dirt (optional)
Instructions
  1. Using a bread knife, carefully saw and cut the wafer cookies as shown. You can make two carrots out of 1 cookie. Discard scraps (or save them to nibble on later!)
  2. Working with 1-2 tootsie rolls at a time, place them (with wrapper on) into the microwave. Microwave for 5-10 seconds until soft. Unroll tootsie roll and using a sharp knife, cut the roll into three sections.
  3. Mold the small section into a cylinder shape.
  4. Make two cuts in each cylinder shape to create three carrot leaves.
  5. Using your fingers, and working quickly, shape the tootsie rolls into carrot tops. Flatten bottoms on a counter top. Set aside to re-harden.
  6. In one corner of a Ziploc bag, place 10 orange candy melts. Microwave on 50% power for 60 seconds or until candy is melted. Cut a small opening in the corner of the bag to create a writing tip.
  7. Squeeze a liberal amount of candy melts across the top of the carrot. Set the green top in the candy and hold for a few seconds until set. Lay on a flat surface to completely harden.
  8. Serve on a plate of crushed chocolate cookies.
