Well I noticed a new $2 off Safeway e-coupon last night for chicken and we all know there is a $1/1 coupon for the Frozen boneless, skinless chicken bags in the Grilling coupon books.

This chicken was not featured in my ad this week- so I ran in to check the price at my store.  The bags were priced at $7.52 each for 4lbs- so providing the e-coupon works* and you have the grilling coupon book- you pay $4.52 for a bag of chicken or just $1.13/lb!

There is also a new e-coupon for .30 off a lb of Yellow Nectarines.  My ad features Red Lion nectarines at .77/lb this week so I would grab that coupon for sure.  You can actually choose to print it or save it to your club card.

I did double check the Gardettos and they are free if you are lucky enough to have doubles or .50 without doubles.

There is a deal running at all the Safeway Family stores (Tom Thumb, Randall’s, Vons, Dominicks etc..) for a $10 catalina coupon when you spend $25 on Proctor and Gamble items. This cat is a little tricky because it is not available to use on whatever you want- it is a $10 cat toward a gift card. You can not use it toward a Safeway gift card but they do have a variety of other stores like Target, Home Depot, Starbucks, Applebees etc.. (You want to check the selection at your store before you do this transaction just to be sure they have what you want!)

I spotted a new coupon booklet at Safeway today.  You should keep an eye out at all the family stores including Dominick’s, Vons, Randalls, Genuardis etc..

There was a large display piece located near the meat department at my store.  These can be located anywhere in stores so just keep your eyes peeled for the bright blue booklets- here is what you will find inside:

If you shop at the Safeway Family of stores you might get lucky this week and score free Enfagrow formula!

The cans of ready to feed formula are priced between $5 and $5.99 at many stores.  The bad news is the price is only valid through TODAY.

You can use the $5 off coupon for any can of Enfagrow and it is free!!  Now I paid for formula for 2 babies for 2 years and I can tell you even if you have a baby that isn’t ready for next step formula these typically have a very long shelf life.  Anytime you can get a deal on formula do not pass it up!

I did not see this in my weekly ad- you might check yours and see if it is listed.  Otherwise you can call ahead and ask to confirm the price before you head out!

I was really curious to see how the e-coupons would work this week at Safeway- so I made a quick trip.  I also had to purchase the Ben and Jerry’s in the name of research for MFA- my catalina did not print and I suspect it is because I bought frozen yogurt.  I am going to call them in the next few days to check on that.

Anyhoo- here is my trip:

3 Cheerios at $1.99- used .55/1 and $1/2 coupons (I actually eat cereal for dessert hence the chocolate flavor)
Granola Bars- free with purchase (e-coupons did come off for this)
Nut Clusters $1.99- Used $1/1 coupon
Eggs .99 with in ad coupon
Danimals $2- used .75 coupon

The grand total was 16.93 and I should have a $2 catalina coming back from Ben and Jerry’s.

The total of the e-coupons that came off for the Nature Valley and the Cheerios was $5.70. The trick with e-coupons is that they don’t expire before they are pulled from Cellfire and Shortcuts to load. So you may still have coupons on your card that you have forgotten about. Now the price of all 4 items I bought was $7.96- and the granola bars were free. I used $2.55 in paper coupons and had $5.70 come off in e-coupons. So I actually made a profit of .29 to buy those 5 items- you will want to be very careful that you buy extra items to cover any overage you might have if you try this deal.

There are a few ways to get cheap drinks right now at Safeway Family stores.

You remember the in ad coupon this week for $3.99 Frappucinos. Use the $1/1 from the 5/2 SS and pay $2.99.
Now supposedly there is a promotion running when you buy a 4pk of Starbucks Frappucino, you get $5 off any floral purchase.

I have checked 3 stores and I can’t find any other details about this promotion but my understanding is that the signs are in the Frappucino area. You might keep an eye out- I am not sure if this is regional or what but I did a random Starbucks display in the floral department of one store- just no signage.

Anyway, the floral department of my store has herbs for $1.99 and they have tomato plants for $5.99- so this is a great deal if you can find it!

Pepsi or Aquafina 6pks are priced at $6 for 3 packs with in ad coupon. If you can find the hang tags on the bottles for $3/3- you get each one for just a buck!

You can grab the $2/2 coupon and get them both for free!  I haven’t tested this yet but I heard from you guys no beeps on the coupon!
