Reader Alicja told me that Suave 24 hour deodorant is priced at $1.25 each when you buy 4 at Vons stores.

If you have the $3/2 coupons HERE or the $1.25/1 HERE you should be able to get them all free.

I have not confirmed this at Safeway so I don’t think it is worth a special trip but keep an eye out if you are planning to go anyway!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Many Safeway stores will not allow internet coupons that are higher than 50% of the value of the product.  So keep in mind the coupons might be refused depending on your store’s policies.

There is an overlapping promotion.  The big packs of Charmin (24 double rolls) are on sale for $12.99.  These are part of the Buy 2 get them for $9.99 each promotion that is running.  PLUS these seem to be triggering the $10 catalina when you spend $25 in Proctor and Gamble items. The P&G catalina ENDS 3/2 which is what makes this such a good deal.

It seems the $25 is calculated based upon the $12.99 price!  So here is what the math looks like:

Buy 2 at $12.99- price will automatically adjust to $9.99.
Then add the $3 off P&G e-coupon HERE to your card (these work exactly like the Cellfire coupons and come off right when you swipe your card)
Then Use (2) of the .25/1 from the 2/7 P&G
Final Price: $16.48 + tax

THEN you should get a catalina back for $10 off your next transaction. So the net price is just $6.48 for 2 monster packs of TP or .13 per roll!

I mentioned this deal with some scenarios in the Safeway post HERE but I thought I’d highlight it separately as well because this seems like a great deal to me.

Spend $25 in Proctor and Gamble items and get a $10 catalina back.

You can do this once per transaction and the $25 should be based on your pre-coupon total.  If you decide to do 2 transactions (to total $50) you can also submit for the $100 coupon book HERE!)

The ad does not specify which items are included in the sale- so you will want to look for the specially marked tags in your store to verify the items are included!  It looks like this might JUST be cleaning products which isn’t nearly as exciting.  I will update as soon as I can with what I find!

EDITED:  It is just cleaning products and batteries and such which to me is not very exciting to say the least.  I do not have a master list of exactly what is included so you need to look for tags in your store to see all the participating items.

Starting Wednesday some lucky Safeway shoppers will see Ragu priced at .99 in stores.  If you have the Safeway Coupon Book there is a $1/2 coupon inside.  Since it is a Safeway coupon you can stack it with the .75/2 coupon that is scheduled for the 1/31 RP*!  (Thanks Meg!)

The limit is 2 on this so get both for just .23!  That is a great price (especially for those of us that don’t have doubles!)

Safeway prices tend to vary from region to region so you won’t know for sure your store has this price until the ad breaks on Wednesday.  Hopefully it is nationwide!

*The vast majority of stores have no problem stacking coupons but I have heard from a few of you that have stores that will not allow it.  It should be fine in most areas!

I did want to point out one great deal because it is ending tomorrow! I wandered the store looking for deals with this booklet and the best one I spotted was the Kraft Cream Cheese in tubs and bricks which is $1.99 this week.  Remember I posted the $5 catalina when you buy 5 Kraft items HERE and the cream cheese is included:

I found a large cardbox box display in the baby aisle at Safeway tonight with free samples of Mom to Mom baby formula.  The way these samples work is that you need to take them to the checkstand and have them scanned and when you swipe your club card they should come out as free.  Safeway has done this in the past with different products and it is limited to one sample per household.  Look for the displays at your store!  (Also my sample did not come up as free so check your receipt- I got a refund at customer service).

Also I finally spotted the Safeway January coupon books.  These are manufacturer coupons that can be used at any store and can usually be found near the Health and Beauty aisles.

This particular booklet has some pretty good coupons- $26 worth with the highlights include:

You will want to check your Safeway ad to see if you got the great sale on Hormel lunch meat this weekend!  Some areas have the lunch meat marked down to $1.99 on Saturday and Sunday only (these sales are different from city to city so look for this on the front page of your ad!)

If you do have this price then head over HERE and grab the .75/1 coupons.  If your store also doubles you can get the lunch meat as low as .49!  (Thanks Bensmomma)

I noticed the lunch meat was Buy One Get One in my ad.  I am guessing the lunch meat is priced around $3.50- if that is the case than you can still get a decent deal by using (2) of the .75/1 coupons.  It comes out to $1 per pack without doubles.

I haven’t been over to check on Safeway store coupons in awhile.  When I checked tonight it looks like they have quite a few!

Here is the catch- you can’t print them!  You will need your club card and you can register (just click add on any coupon and the screen will pop up) and then they are added to your card.

These are store coupons so you should be able to just scan your club card and have them come off the total.  You should be able to use manufacturer coupons with these as well.

You will want to be very careful to only add the coupons that say Safeway in bold type to your club card.  There is a program where you can also add manufacturer coupons to your card- they have pretty much the same coupons that you can find HERE.  I have not spent much time with this but when I tested it by adding the coupon to my club card, I realized I could not print the coupon!  So you are committed to only using the coupon at Safeway once it is on your club card.  I prefer to print them and have the choice to use it at any store personally- so keep that in mind!

One coupon that struck me was the $1.50/2 Yo Plus yogurt.  These are typically priced at $2.25-2.50 in stores so use that along with the $1 printables HERE and you should get yogurt for .50-.75 each!

Honestly I just don’t know what it going on with Safeway. It used to be my favorite store and now I am going for weeks without a single thing I really want to purchase from them. I might have to branch out more.

Anyway, just wanted to point out there are 4 coupons for free items in the ad that broke today. They are only available today-Tuesday and include free Safeway Bacon, a dozen eggs, Safeway bread and OJ. The catch is you now have to spend $50 AFTER all coupons. This has been slowly changing and believe it or not once upon a time it just required a $10 pre coupon purchase to use these in ad coupons- so a pretty dramatic change.
