Safeway store coupon

I thought I’d share a special Safeway coupon that can be used on a variety of items. These coupons are often found in stores that are just opening, reopening, or holding some sort of event. Every so often they have little tables in stores with free samples of products. The product is usually a Safeway product- such as their Vitamin Water- and the person will have these coupons as an incentive to get you to buy.

I recently found a table that the person had completely cleared and they had left an entire tearpad of these coupons. I took several as they often last through the end of the year. If you happen upon them at your store grab as many as possible. You can only use one per transaction but you will find countless items that are free or nearly free with these coupons. This week I am using mine to get the Safeway croutons that are part of the mix and match promo. The croutons will be free. I also have gotten cans of beans, produce, beverages and tons of other items for great prices by holding onto these coupons.

It is always worth while to pop into a store that has a grand reopening or opening sign as they usually have tons of sample booths, special store coupons, an ad featuring special pricing and so much more. These coupons are not specific to the store you find them in.

Be sure to print the Hasbro and Leapster coupons from my toolbar to the right before they are gone! $15.00- $5.00 coupon= $10.00. I look for deals like this throughout the year to get all my Christmas shopping done.

Safeway: You Win Some, You Lose Some.

03/24/2009 By Charlene 2 Comments

I went into Safeway today to test the Bertolli promotion I posted about last night. It DID NOT work for me! It was reported working in CA but did not work today in Nor CA. My store was also down to the last Huggies tub so I had to adjust my plan in store. (I hate that).

The prices listed are after the Buy 10 get $5 off promo to simplify.

(6) Bertolli Pouches $1.50 each = $9.00- (6) $1/1 blinkies= $3.00

(1) Huggies Tub $2.00 – $1.25/MQ = .75

(1) Del Monte Veg = .75

(1) Pepsi 2L= .75

(1) Eating Right 2lb Carrots. $2.00- $1/1 Safeway q for Eating Right products

=$6.83

I decided to keep the pasta sauce since it is an easy crock pot meal for after the baby comes. I put boneless chicken breast in the crock, add the mushroom sauce and dinner is ready. This can be added to pasta or served alone with a green salad.
Also a stockpile tip- if you buy several of one item that has a container from the manufacturer- like I did with the Bertolli– you might as well take the container with you. They spent a lot of time and money figuring out the best way to display their products and take up the least space possible. Take advantage- it will be much easier to organize your own shelves at home.

Hot tip for Safeway shoppers…

03/23/2009 By Charlene Leave a Comment

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

Reports that a new catalina has started for Bertolli pasta sauce pouches. Receive $2 oyno catalina wyb 2 pouches. These are part of the mix and match that goes through tommorrow and are priced at $1.50 (when you buy 10 participating). Many people are finding $1/1 blinkie machines in front of the sauces.

Math looks like this:

$1.50 x 2= $3.00
$1/1 MQ x2= $2.00
Pay $1.00 and get a catalina for $2 off your next order.
I am going to make a run tommorrow and I will report back!
I have heard this rolls AND that you get a $2 catalina for every 2 pouches you buy.
So buy 10 pouches $2x 10= $20- $5 off for mix and match promo = $15,
use (10) blinkies $1/1= $5.00 and get (5) $2.00 catalinas. MM of $5.00.

Walgreens and Target- Junk Food Galore!

03/23/2009 By Charlene Leave a Comment

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

I stopped at Target and got the following for $2.89 total:

(4) Reach Toothbrushes – .97 each used $1/1 MQ

(1) True North Nuts- $2.00 each used $1/1 MQ **The sale on these is over. This rang up at $3.29 and I went to customer service and they credited me the difference in cash. The tags from last week were still on the shelf.

(1) Johnson’s baby qtips $1.29- used $1/1 MQ any Johnson’s Baby item

(1) Frozen Pretzels- $1.89- used $.75/1 MQ

(2) Mott’s Applesauce- $1.69- used (2) $1/1 Target Q, (2) .55/1 IP **They also had plain flavors for 1.44/each which would have netted .11 overage. Since I was already getting overage on the toothbrushes I didn’t want to push my luck.

Then for Walgreens.

(3) Orbit Gum- clearanced to .35 each- used .99/3 IVC

(5) Starburst– clearanced to .22 each (this will be put in cellophane and wrapped with ribbon for Easter gifts)

(2) Mike & Ike’s candy- clearanced to .34 each (since we are going to the movies tonight)

(2) Glade Lasting Impressions Air Freshener- $9.99 used BOGO IP, $4/1 MQ from Glade, $4/1 IVC– the register deducts $4 for each one I purchased so I was credited $8.00 which made this a $2 money maker

(2) 2pks of Duracell batteries .99 each

(2) Deerfield Farms Raisins $1 each
(2) Deerfield Farms frozen pizzas clearanced to .25 each.
I paid on a gift card- the total was $6.01 for everything.
