Kmart Doubles Update

Alrightly ya’ll- those of you that are seasoned doubles shoppers know that Kmart usually has some extra hoops to jump through.  Those of you that are new to this- it is fun and usually worthwhile but they really make you work for your deals!

Here is the monkey wrench that Kmart is tossing out this time around:

You have to sign up for a Shop Your Way Rewards card from Kmart.  It is not a credit card and it is free.

The card will need to be used if you want to double coupons at Kmart the week of April 4th. It will also track how many you use, so the 5 coupon limit per day will be enforced.

I would recommend signing up for this now if you think you want to do the doubles event.  It says the card will arrive in the mail in 3-4 weeks and you can print a temporary card to use in the meantime.

Also, I try to stay upbeat and positive on MFA but I do want to warn you when I signed up for the last Kmart Rewards deal (the ChaChing card) it was a disaster.  The stores had no idea what it was and could not scan it and I wound up throwing it away.  So my hope is that Kmart has any glitches with this new program all ironed out by the time we hit the stores!

Personally I have shopped doubles events numerous times and I always try to look at it as an adventure and have a sense of humor with the process.  I am very pleased that they do not seem to be enforcing a minimum purchase amount this time around.

Kmart Double Coupon Event: List of Stores!

Well I nearly fell over when I saw this little beauty!  Some of you will recall that Kmart- shall we say- likes to keep us guessing on the double coupon events?

Well for the event coming up on 4/4 they have issued a complete list of participating stores HERE!

So a super thank you to those that sent me confirmation emails from Kmart for your areas but it looks like this time around they are going to make it a little easier on us!

And if you have never participated in a doubles event you can see an old list of match ups HERE- hopefully this goes without saying that the list is expired but you can get an idea of why we all get so excited!

Kmart Doubles Event (Maybe)

I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up on this but the rumor is that we might see another doubles coupon event from Kmart in April.  For those of you that took part in this last year, you might recall that Kmart is not terribly organized with these promotions.  Basically if you call three times you get three different answers so we can just cross our fingers that it does actually happen.

Also it could be just select regions that participate- or it could just be Michigan last last time- I won’t really know for sure until the day the sale starts.

However this is the email that I got from Kmart:

Thank you for contacting Kmart regarding the Kmart Double Coupon Event. We appreciate your interest in this promotion. This event is for select participating Kmart locations from 4/4-4/10.

Below are the details of the promotion:

-Manufacturer Coupons up to and including $2 Value – Doubled up to $2 no matter what the retail price of a single item is.
-Does not include Kmart Store Coupons
-Does not include Kmart Pharmacy Store Coupons
-Limit 5 total coupons per customer per day.
-First 5 coupons provided by customer will be doubled.

Thank you for contacting us and have a nice day.

So it is a little bit of a bummer because you can only use (5) coupons total per day.  Also I do not know what “select” Kmart stores are.  Hopefully as we get closer to April more information will come out.  Please feel free to share in the comments any information you might have!

Kmart: Hot Quaker Deal

There is a great deal on Quaker items this week at Kmart.  Buy 5 for $10 and get an extra $3 off at checkout.

This should include instant oatmeal, granola bars, Quaker cereal and cookies.

So without any coupons you will pay $7 for 5 items or $1.40 each.

Free Post Cereal at Kmart

Remember the $2 off Post cereal coupon I told you about HERE?  Well you might want to head over to Kmart and check out the sale this week where Post cereal is just $2!

The ad doesn’t specify which cereals are included but it sounds like all Post cereals from 11-20oz.  The coupon is for Shredded Wheat, Grape Nuts or Raisin Bran.  You might call ahead to your store to confirm they carry these flavors just in case.

(And because I know someone will ask, sadly I have not heard one thing about any doubles events in 2010…)

Another Leapster Deal!

Leapster games are also Buy One Get One Free at Kmart this week!  This is in the regular ad that runs through Saturday.

I took a look online and it looks like the games start at $24.99- so the math looks like this:

Buy 2 at $24.99 (one is free)
Use (2) $5/1 coupons HERE
Pay: $14.99 or $7.50 each!

Some cashiers will not allow 2 coupons to be used- if that is the case you will pay $9.99 per game which is still more than half off!
